Restaurante Mohana Vera Playa — Restaurant in Vera

We have been to Mohana B2 Vera Playa several times over the past year. The last time was 30/08/23. We have loved everytime that we have been and friends and relatives who we have invited to go with us in the past, now also have been with their own guests, due to being so impressed. Visitors from the UK, whom we have taken, ask to go again upon their next visit. A word of warning; the word is out and it is spreading, tables are often reserved here, as many but, not all, on the evening of our last visit. There were unreserved tables available but, not many and that was a Wednesday evening. It would be advisable to book a table in advance. Set on the beach front at Vera Playa with views toward the sea, the décor and ambiance are great, with a tropical vibe, leaning toward the South America's and the place is very clean. (Once again; my wife would not eat in a place that she perceived to be unclean, inclusive of the toilet areas) Food is top notch with plenty of choice for all pallets, including the infants but, without the drastic prices. Main course pricing is predominantly in the 10€ - 25€ range for the adults. The staff are very friendly and helpful and on occasion, humourously funny too, which we love. On occasion they have live music here, so if that, like us, is your thing then check it out, but book a table. All in all, one of our beloved venues, a real returner past, present and...

NOT VERY HAPPY HOUR!! Out for a walk along the promenade and were drawn in to B2 Mohana by a big sign saying Happy Hour 16.00 until 18.00....2 drinks for the price of one.

This is where you need to be careful!! We ordered 2 x gin and tonics, followed by another two. When the bill came, it was 26 euros. When I asked if the bill was correct, I was told gin and tonic was not included in the happy hour 2 for 1, it only included beer, wine and all cocktails. I explained that this was not clear on their chalkboard and was told it was on their social media. Stupidly, I had not checked their social media before I sat down and ordered.....so be aware. Even more crazy is the fact that the G&T is 6.50 a drink and the cocktails are 7.50 per drink and yet still the G&Ts are not included on the happy hour. Moral of the story, I have just stopped for an expensive mid week drink, whilst expecting a cheap one. Be careful what you think you...

Mi chica y yo llevamos más de una semana por la zona de Vera, Garrucha, Mojacar y puedo decir que este es el peor restaurante en el que hemos estado.

A primera vista ves un local bastante bonito, con terraza, muchas mesas, ambiente familiar... Después de entrar y esperar un rato a que nos atendieran ya fuimos a una camarera para ver si nos podría dar una mesa.

Hasta aquí todo bien. Después de otro rato esperando ya nos preguntan que vamos a beber, sin darnos la carta de comida todavía, y después de otro rato vuelven con la bebida, pan con alioli y la carta.

El pan... Cuando no lo sacas de la bolsa de plástico y pasa un día? Pues así, a 0'50€ la unidad, acompañado de un mejunje de aceite/alioli.

Decidimos pedir un entrante y un plato principal para cada uno.

Antes de seguir haré un apunte en que los carteles con el menú que tienen fuera no se corresponde con la carta que te dan, y al preguntar al camarero/encargado balbuceo algo como... "si, na, bueno, eso esque es en otro lao"

Primero la ensalada de kumato. Después de más de 20'min esperando por fin vino el plato con unas 6-8 rodajas de tomate, con un poquito de cebolla y ventresca. Aquí no puedo decir que estuviese malo, solo el tiempo de espera, la escasez del plato y el precio.

De segundo yo me pedí una hamburguesa y mi chica un lomo de atún. De verdad que es muy dificil hacer mal una hamburguesa, bueno pues ellos lo consiguieron hasta tal punto que no me la comí y la dejé entera.

El pan era peor que el que nos pusieron al principio, una mezcla entre chicloso y duro, la carne estaba reseca y sosa, todo esto acompañado de un triste tranchete, unas hojas de lechuga y las patatas fritas que lo acompañan son congeladas... Intenté partir la hamburguesa por la mitad y no hubo manera, quité el pan, me fuí a comer la carne y fue peor.

Ahora vamos con el lomo de atún a la plancha, de más o menos 1cm de grosor, muy hecho por los bordes y crudo por el centro y todo ello embadurnado de una salsa semi-dulce de mostaza/miel...

Dejamos los platos enteros, viene la camarera y nos dice "todo bien señores? Les apetece un postrecito, café?“ y ya nos la quedamos mirando y la decimos que no nos ha gustado nada, que nos traiga la cuenta y listo.

Vemos como marcha a hablar con el encargado y al rato vuelve con la cuenta tal cual, pagamos y nos vamos.

Me parece de un fallo tremendo el que en un restaurante pase algo así, que se ponga en conocimiento del encargado y este ni haga el amago de pasarse por la mesa a preguntar que es lo que ha pasado.
