Convenient Location, but Disappointing Restaurant

I recently attended an international exhibition at this venue and wanted to share my experience. The exhibition hall's location is extremely convenient, with ample parking space and great accessibility. It was easy to find and navigate, which made my visit hassle-free.

The availability of a bank and various locations within the venue was a definite plus. It made it convenient for attendees to take care of any financial or logistical needs during the event.

However, I must admit that my excitement was dampened by the restaurant on site. The food quality was far from satisfactory – a disappointing contrast to the otherwise well-maintained venue. The restaurant's menu sounded promising, but the dishes were bland and unappetizing. It's unfortunate that the restaurant did not meet the same standards as the rest of the venue.

In conclusion, the exhibition hall's location, parking, and accessibility are definite strengths, making it a suitable choice for events. However, if you plan to eat at the on-site restaurant, I strongly advise against it. It's best to explore dining options outside the venue for a more enjoyable culinary experience.

The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Sri Lanka holds a special place in my heart as it's where I graduated with both my B.Sc and M.Sc degrees. It is undeniably a national resource, and I am grateful for the education and experiences I gained here.

BMICH is an architectural marvel, a symbol of national pride, and a hub for academic and cultural events. The grandeur and historical significance of this place are truly awe-inspiring. It has played a pivotal role in the academic and cultural development of Sri Lanka.

However, I must address one aspect that needs improvement - the canteen. While BMICH excels in many areas, the quality of food and service at the canteen often leaves much to be desired. For an institution of such stature, I believe the canteen experience should match the grandeur of the venue itself. It's a place where students and visitors often gather, and enhancing the dining experience would be a welcome improvement.

Despite this minor setback, I remain wholeheartedly appreciative of BMICH's role as a national resource, a center of learning, and a venue for significant events. It holds immense historical and cultural importance and continues to contribute to the growth of Sri Lanka's intellectual and cultural landscape.

In conclusion, BMICH is an exceptional institution, and I am proud to have graduated from here. I hope that in the future, efforts can be made to elevate the canteen experience to match the overall excellence of this...

BMICH: Colombo's Crown Jewel, a 5-Star Experience

BMICH - the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall - isn't just a venue; it's an experience. From the moment you step onto the sprawling, landscaped grounds, you're met with an air of grandeur and professionalism. This iconic landmark has seamlessly hosted everything from global conferences to intimate exhibitions, and I've personally enjoyed several events here, making it an easy 5-star Google Maps review.

A Venue with Stunning Versatility:

BMICH's architecture is a masterpiece, blending contemporary grace with traditional Sri Lankan elements. The spacious halls and meeting rooms cater to every event size, transforming effortlessly from intimate gatherings to bustling conferences. I've attended both small workshops and large-scale exhibitions, and each time, the space felt perfectly tailored to the event.

Impeccable Service, Every Step of the Way:

The staff at BMICH is truly its secret weapon. From the welcoming security guards to the efficient event coordinators, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Whether you're a guest or an organizer, you're treated with courtesy and professionalism at every turn.

Beyond the Halls: An Oasis in the City:

BMICH isn't just about the indoors; the sprawling outdoor spaces are an oasis in the heart of Colombo. The landscaped gardens offer a serene escape during breaks, and the ample food options cater to every taste bud. I particularly enjoyed the open-air food court for its diverse, delicious, and budget-friendly fare.

More Than Just an Event, a Memory:

BMICH isn't just a venue; it's a stage for creating lasting memories. I've witnessed inspiring talks, participated in engaging workshops, and even stumbled upon hidden gems like the art gallery and traditional dance performances. Every visit offers something new and exciting, making BMICH more than just a conference center; it's a cultural hub that pulsates with the energy of Colombo.

Without a doubt, BMICH is Colombo's crown jewel. From its stunning architecture and versatile spaces to its impeccable service and vibrant atmosphere, it truly deserves a 5-star rating. If you're looking for a world-class venue that leaves a lasting impression, look no further than BMICH. You won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend BMICH to anyone looking for a venue that elevates their event to the next level. It's more than just a space; it's an experience you...

It was so nice to attend conference. The construction of the hall was carried out by a joint Sri Lankan and Chinese workforce with a considerable portion of the building materials being imported from China.

In 1998 a small Exhibition Centre, the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, was built on the grounds as a gift from China.

The BMICH premises is managed by the S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BNMF) which is chaired by the President of Sri Lanka.

The BNMF has an academic wing specialised in International Relations, Languages and Cultural Studies named "Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS)" located within the BMICH premises.

The building has over 1,500 m2 (16,000 sq ft) of floorspace, and is located in the Cinnamon Gardens area of Colombo. An up-to-date library with volumes of literature on almost all subjects is available for the use of research for delegates visiting the BMICH. To facilitate with banking needs, a bank is located near the main hall. Due to the high-profile events taking place within the venue the Sri Lanka Policemaintains a permanent detachment and the Mount Lavinia Hotel has a restaurant. The Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre has floor area covering 4,500 sq. m. consists of two exhibition halls, lobby, dining room, lounge, kitchen and other VIP amenities.

Several high-profile events and exhibitions have been held in the venue, including the Non-Aligned Movement Summit 16-19 August 1976, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2013, and the WORLD CONFERENCE ON YOUTH 2014. It is host to the annual EDEX Expo.

There have been some local events and exhibitions held in Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre (SBMEC) such as

BMICH Life Style Shopping Expo (April and December) Colombo International Book Fair Wedding Show Bridal show Pro Food Facets Gem Motor show Build SL (Housing & construction expo) Kedella (Architectural and...
