The most serene and peaceful place of worship. The statue in the garden and the candle lighting area are open throughout the day. Church hall timings are different and can be referred to on their site. Little bit about the history: The Catholic community was at first served from Bahrain, but with the passage of time there was a need for a priest permanently residing there. Fr. Barnabas therefore turned to the wise and benevolent Sheikh Rashid and requested an area for a house of worship. This was immediately granted, but it was not used as it was too far. In 1965 Fr. Eusebio Daveri arrived in Dubai. He obtained an area that was more convenient and, all by himself, began to make the preparations for a building. In the begining of 1966 a parish hall was ready. The foundation stone for the church was laid by Sheikh Rashid himself on 25 May 1966, and on 7 April 1967 it was solemnly blessed by Mgr. Magliacani and dedicated to Mary Assumed into Heaven. Besides the church, Fr. Eusebio built a beautiful school, for the construction of which he personally made, with the help of two workmen, 16,000 concrete bricks. However, in no time at all, the school needed to be expanded. A new wing was added and inaugurated on 26 May 1976, on the occasion of the Bishop Gremoli's first visit to Dubai. The arrival of the Comboni Sisters, on 6 September 1977, brought the school into the mainstream of life in the Emirates. Today it has 2,200 pupils and is considered one of the best English-medium schools in the Gulf. It is affiliated to the University of London and is licensed to issue Advanced Level Certificates.

I was also pleased to discover a stationary shop offering a variety of religious articles, providing visitors with the opportunity to deepen their faith and connection to God. St. Mary's is a really beautiful place of worship. There's this calm and peacefulness about the church, that transcends the ordinary. Here you don't feel out of place even as a first time worshipper. You feel right at home, like you belong, and that's the beauty of it. Perhaps it has got something to do with the unassuming achitectural design of the church. From outside, you wont even know it's a church, save for the name of course. It's not one of those intimidating structures that has a way of dwarfing you in comparism, instead, its ordinariness beckons, embracing, like a friend. You know right away it won't be your last time there, that you're definitely gonna come back. Mass here is very precise and straight to the point too. Hymn is melodious, almost soulful. You'll love it here. I didn't get the chance to walk the grounds, so can't say much about it. P.S I can't state for a fact that physicsl mass has begun yet, but you can always log on to their official website to celebrate the holy mass online(Temporary adjunct to the review)

I visited this church few times, and definitely St. Maria Catholic Church is a beautiful and welcoming place of worship. The community at St. Maria Catholic Church is warm and inviting, with parishioners who are friendly and welcoming to newcomers. In all weeks, I have to go there. Its compared to kerala that church is not at all feel like a church. That's not a issue, but I just told that you are not expect a kerala type church there.The holy mass for different times for different peoples. I attended mostly English Mass. I think weekly 2 times they conduct Malayalam mass.Sunday & friday. Sunday is confirmed friday am not sure. I have some favourite places there. Holy Mary grotto, that's my mother's lap.And also we can light the candles only inside there outside candles are prohibited there, and we only need to pay there amount what in our hands. That's surprised me. No one is strictly take any money from you for candles. You can drop the money in a box for your candles. If you don't have money, you can light that candles and request your prayers to the holy Mary. She is always with us.
