Located in the vibrant city of Malmö, the Turning Torso is an architectural marvel and one of Sweden's most recognizable landmarks. Designed by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, this neo-futuristic skyscraper was inspired by a human torso in motion. It became the tallest building in Scandinavia at 190 meters. Historically, the Turning Torso has played a significant role in modernising Malmö's skyline and aiding the city's transformation into a hub for contemporary design and innovation. That being said, while the Turning Torso is an impressive feat of engineering and a testament to modern architecture, it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Yes, it's an iconic structure, and a must-see if you're in Malmö, but it might not leave you utterly spellbound. You also see it a lot in the famous TV show “the bridge”.

Turning Torso, Malmo, Sweden Turning Torso is a neo-futurist residential skyscraper in Sweden and the tallest building in Scandinavia. Located in Malmö on the Swedish side of the Öresund strait, it was built and is owned by Swedish cooperative association HSB. It is regarded as the first twisted skyscraper in the world. The project was designed by Spanish architect, structural engineer, sculptor and painter Santiago Calatrava and officially opened on 27 August 2005. The tower reaches a height of 190 metres (623 ft) with 54 stories and 147 apartments. In August 2015, it was announced that the building was the winner of the 10 Year Award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. It won the 2005 Gold Emporis Skyscraper Award. ctcy: FB

Magnificent. I love tall buildings and this one is a truly dizzying site whose top dissapears into low lying clouds above. Despite the windy, rainy, and cold weather, the site was spectacular to look at. The twisting design of the building is truly a work of art, and it's visible from all over the city. I was in awe of the stunning views from the top, and I hear the architecture inside is just as impressive. The residential apartments, offices, and conference rooms are all designed with the utmost attention to detail. The Turning Torso is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Malmö, and I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

Just an engineering marvelous building. As the name says, it's a 55-56 floor turning building in the form of torso. The plan is very nice, where in the middle, there are around 6 elavators, giving utmost privacy most of the time to the residents. There is a monitor pad to choose the floor you want to go but One must have RF ID with access to that floor to unlock the floor switch. The lift must of the times take you directly to that particular floor non-stop within 30 seconds. My experience is less than 30 seconds for ground to 54th floor. We could literally have ear pain due to loss of gravity when coming down.
