Read moreYesterday, during our trip, my friend, two children, and I had the pleasure, or rather the displeasure, of visiting Grona Lund Park in Stockholm. At the park entrance, security checked us, just like all the other visitors, and calmly let us through to continue our fun. I should mention that I am a photographer, and as usual, I had a backpack with me, which contained two lenses and water for my child. I showed all of this to security at the entrance, after which I was allowed in without any issues, just like many other people with similar bags. While strolling through the amusement park, we decided to eat at the Fish & Chips café, where there was quite a long queue. We ordered our food and stood waiting for it. At that moment, an older man with a beard approached us, who turned out to be a security employee from within the park. In a rude manner, he demanded that I immediately leave my backpack in the storage located outside the park, as, according to Swedish law, I was not allowed to walk around the park with it. I explained that we and our children were hungry and had to wait for our order, which was already nearly ready. Despite this, the man continued to rudely hover over us, as if we were some sort of criminals. For me, this situation was extremely humiliating, especially considering that other people with backpacks, bags, and strollers were passing by, and no one said anything to them. I decided, without waiting, to leave and put my backpack in the locker, leaving my friend with the children to wait for our order. By the time I reached the locker, my friend called me and said that the man was still standing by her, demanding that she also leave her small bag outside the park. I should clarify that my friend only had a small waist bag with her documents, which she wore around her waist. My friend, along with our orders and the children, was also escorted out of the park like a criminal by the security guard to the locker. I must emphasize again: we are law-abiding citizens who violated nothing, simply standing with our daughters waiting for our lunch, and this situation and attitude were extremely humiliating for us, ruining our mood for the rest of the day. I give one star solely for the presence of attractions at Grona Lund, but such behavior from the staff completely negates all the positive emotions from our visit.

Read moreI wanted to like it, but experienced so many minuses.
If it was only for the rides, the experience might have been decent. But when you don't get many chances to actually try them, that's where it dwindles. Quite poor organization on multiple levels, and where to start...
Oversold the number of tickets, so that every ride took a looong time to get to. I understand that they earned a good buck, but for a visitor it's not worth the price (which is already quite high). And they changed the price between the checking and buying. The price sky rocketed (115€ for 2! Shame on you!!). This is not a low cost flight! You either have an entrance price or not! Sitting distribution on the rides is quite loose, frequently many empty seats, which makes already long waiting even longer. On several occasions only one person does multiple tasks (letting in, distributing, checking, and sometimes even operating the ride). A few attractions closed, which makes the visitor distribution even denser. Cannot pass between two sections of the park with a kids buggy, due to badly made ramps (need to carry it if not wide enough)... And so on... Park navigation: non existent. If you don't have a map in your hands, you're lost (sometimes even with it). It may rely on visitors being returning ones, but even those are having troubles (literally heard from a frequent visitor and a resident that she never tried some ride as she didn't know how to find the entrance) So, waaay too expensive for what you get. Add to that ridiculously expensive, and almost never worse burgers...
As said, I wanted to like it, but hoped to have a chance to like it. Didn't quite get it. I chose to depart with only positive memories, but needed to leave the objective ones here for the world as well, to know...
