Skansen-Akvariet is one of those places that manages to be both fascinating and a little thrilling at the same time. This is where you meet the creepy crawlies up close - snakes, spiders, lizards, monkeys, lemurs, and all sorts of exotic creatures. The atmosphere is intimate, and you get the sense of being much closer to the animals than in a traditional zoo setting.

It’s not a huge space, but that’s part of the charm. Every corner holds something surprising, from aquariums and terrariums to free-roaming animals. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the animals, which makes the experience even better.

Perfect for families, animal lovers, or anyone curious enough to get a bit out of their comfort zone. Don’t skip this hidden gem inside Skansen - it’s a highlight...

During Skansen itself is truly worth several visits I wasn’t too impressed by the private aquarium. Considering a very high entry fee, separate from the Skansen entrance ticket, the place is small and rain forest part lifeless and disappointing. Most reptiles have very little space and there’s a very disturbing noise throughout the place coming from the ventilation. Especially the place where the white rattlesnake is being held, there’s a TV just above its terrarium showing the same short movie every few seconds causing a very disturbing noise over and over again. It’s heartbreaking to see how little space some animals have never seeing real sunlight. I think for the few we pay the animals should have it much better than they...

A separate cost to Skansen, you must pay the Skansen ticket and then the additional ticket cost here = you cannot just pay to visit here.

After a very long day enjoying Skansen, I would have loved to come here but we were too tired to do it on the same day. It makes no sense that you cannot just go here, why would you also force your guests to pay for a Skansen ticket when they only want to come visit you?

What a huge loss in business opportunity! Let’s think about the majority target market - people with kids. Skansen takes all day, it is exhausting. Kids don’t last all day. They aren’t going to be up for this and Skansen. If you had a ticket that only grants access to here, you would make a lot more money. Who missed that...

Skansen Zoo is a fantastic destination for families, especially if you're visiting with kids, when you are in Stockholm. The park offers a wide range of activities and plenty of animals to see, making it easy to spend an entire day exploring. A highlight for children is the interactive experience, where they can touch a snake and enjoy other hands-on activities. In addition to the zoo, there's an aquarium featuring the world's smallest monkey, which is a must-see. The park also features a charming old house that provides a glimpse into historic culture, adding an educational element to your visit. With a nice restaurant and convenient restrooms, plus ample parking, Skansen Zoo is easy to reach and a joy to explore. Don't miss it!

Entrance ticket is 120 Swedish krona Great exhibitions of animals let visitors see lots of activities of the animals You can find monkeys, baboons , reptiles rodents , insects and exotic fish in there Just after entrance, you can find tens of baboons living in harmony which is enjoyable to observe All the animals are kept in individual aquariums inside the building, so it’s really easy to explore and see all the amazing wildlife Transparent glass catfish looks fantastic in an open aquarium with great decorations In a huge aquarium, you can find a little piece of dessert where herds dwarf mongooses live. They look so active and adorable.
