Very disappointed after my family's visit to Kokpunkten. The pool area was much smaller than I had expected and there was not much room to play in, every space had been used for some kind of attraction. The rides were good, but out of four, one was closed for renovation, and the others were also closed in turns during the day - it seemed like there was not enough staff to have the remaining three rides open simultaneously. This of course meant that queues to the open rides were huge. Regarding staff there seemed to be a lack of it in the whole installation, there was practically no-one overlooking the different areas and groups of boys/adolescents were allowed to run wild, even in the kiddie pool. The queue to the café was always really long, even though we waited until long after regular lunch hours. The available food in the café was also really disappointing to a vegetarian: margherita pizza (no toppings) and french fries were basically it - nothing with any protein. How hard would it be to have at least vegetarian hot dogs or a pizza with some topping other than meat? Another irritation was the dim lighting, it was just really dark everywhere you went - when going from inside to the outside pool, it took ten minutes for your eyes to adjust. Price-wise it's really expensive compared to other similar places and not at all value for money. On the positive side, the outside pool was nice, the kiddie area was big and had lots of fun stuff, there were lots of bubble baths and the changing rooms were...
Read moreYou have to decide in beforehand if you want to swim between 08-14, or 14.30- and onwards. We came 08.00. We very much wanted coffee, but at the time we requested us to be there, neither personnel in pool area nor cafe was open.
There are only four slides. Two you have to be 12 years old. The other two are ok, but nothing out of the ordinary.
There is a small “experience” pool area, with VR snorkelling (cost extra), some wall climbing, and a room with daunt projections of flying or motor cross being projected. There are a few standard plastic jacuzzis. Best with athomsphere are the cool lights.
Relax area cost extra is located next to outdoor pool which offers a nice view over Mälaren. Water temperature is nice.
The only place to eat serves extra ordinary poor - only re-heated and microwaved over cooked pasta or pancakes or sandwiches are served at ridiculously high prices. For example kids pancakes and coffee 83 kr. If you sign up on their membership you may get the coffee for 5 kr instead of 23kr. The only sandwiches were “ham and cheese”, and they had to order new ones from a kitchen when asked for a “pure” cheese sandwich. It still came with the ham though. But, I find this extremely odd, with so many Muslims, vegans and vegetarians that ham- out of all spreads, is the only standard.
A visit to a local pool area would probably make the children equally happy at a fifth of the price.
Finally. There is no good karma surrounding the place. Bring you own joy and happiness! This is not a wow...
Read moreOn a positive note, the place it is fun and water is warm enough to enjoy the attractions. Nice views from the outer pool and reasonable food and coffee prices. The overall experience could be improved in many senses though. If you arrive before the time of your turn, you have to wait in queue outside (or in a cafe which is too small to fit many people, and let you in once the queue is done). Waiting outside in winter is not a pleasant experience. Check in takes time, even if you buy your tickets online. Your code is read manually, there is not automatic access with a bar code or similar, therefore the waiting times could be significant. Once inside, the changing rooms are nice and clean. Showers have enough warm water. The slides are not well controlled by personal. They just have a person in the Boomerang, as for the rest is absolute anarchy. I saw more than 15 teenagers going down the inside out at the same time, nobody controlled them. I even saw one of the employees watching them without saying anything. People bump on top of me many times because they did not respect the red light. People (children and teenagers) tend to jump the queues constantly due to the lack of control. All this lack of personnel, makes the overall experience much worse than it could be. Coming out is another nightmare. A big queue to pay whatever you consumed inside. Just 2 people in the cashier for hundreds of customers, and the self checkout kiosk...
