Holzbrücke Rapperswil-Hurden — Attraction in Rapperswil-Jona

This is a long wooden footbridge that runs next to the road across the lake of zurich connecting Rapperwil and Pfaffikon. Its a nice walk when the weather is nice. I would not recommend this as a specific destination in its own right, specially if you need to travel more than 30 minutes to get there. If you plan to visit Rapperswil its a nice add on. (Rapperswil is a charming village with an old town and castle). I stopped there on my way to visit a swim park. The Holzbrucke is a modern replacement (2001) of a 14th century construction that was constantly destroyed by war or the weather. It is the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland (almost 1km) and is part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. This is a wonderful location. I had a great time here with my friends. I highly suggest visiting this amazing viewpoint with friends and family members. You can even take your pets with you to walk. Make sure not to put any garbage in the water. The water is pretty clear, clean and well maintained, which is fantastic for this area.
