We went as a family of 4 (kids 6 and 9), and the price of the family ticket with the 20% Coop Supercard discount was reasonable. We arrived just before midday and there was hardly anyone there. We had no problem booking cycling (we were alone as a family on the track) and indoor test drives (4 people had booked for the 20 minute slot and 2 left after
Read moreI recently visited Umweltarena Spreitenbach, and I must say I was quite disappointed with my experience. While the staff was friendly and welcoming, there were several issues that left me with a less than favorable impression of this venue.
First and foremost, it felt like the entire exhibition was heavily influenced by energy providers, giving it a somewhat biased perspective on renewable energy. I was hoping for a more balanced and educational experience, but instead, it felt like a sponsored exhibition with a singular agenda. A more impartial presentation of renewable energy would have been appreciated.
Additionally, the condition of the exhibition booths was subpar. Many of them appeared outdated and dusty, clearly lacking in proper maintenance. It was disheartening to see that numerous booths were not functioning, with out-of-order stickers placed on some of them. This greatly diminished the overall experience and left me feeling like I didn't get the full value for my visit.
Another major concern I had was the lack of accessibility for disabled individuals. The presence of multiple stairs leading from the parking area is not accommodating for people with mobility challenges. This oversight is disappointing and should be addressed to ensure that the Umweltarena is truly inclusive for all visitors.
In conclusion, while the staff's friendliness was a positive aspect of my visit, the issues I encountered regarding biased content, the poor condition of the exhibition booths, and the lack of accessibility left me with a less than satisfactory impression of Umweltarena Spreitenbach. I hope that these concerns can be addressed to improve the overall visitor experience...
Read moreI visited with my children 7 and 9 and overall we left disappointed by what we found. Firstly, there is hardly any explanation in English, French or Italian. It is just German. In an era of automatic translation, a fairly new place, and being Switzerland so international, I was really not expecting this. And there is ample space in most places to add text at least in English. Secondly we felt it was a bit of disguised promotion. Each section seems to be built or sponsored by a company and the information reads a bit like "see how good and sustainable we are"... I was expecting more independence in the information... Thirdly, many interactive experiences were either not working altogether or had a very basic design that made it uninteresting. There seems to be an issue with maintenance of the experiences, at least today when we visited. We missed out on much of the information because of the language barrier, but even accounting for that I would not recommend this place. We spent 4 hours in the Arena, but left disappointed, at the very least make an effort to translate information, this can be done quite cheaply...
