The ice skating experience itself was wonderful. For Zurich, the price of entry and skate rental were extremely reasonable, my one complaint regarding the space was the lack of heaters in the entry queue. For an hour long wait and as many guest as the space could hold, they definitely make more than enough money to accommodate guests with 2-3 heaters while waiting. I understand that this excursion involves winter cold, but you aren’t actively moving while in the queue like you are on the skating rink. The 1 star in my review is most attributable to the restaurant available in the center(not the self service restaurant). My partner and I made a reservation for fondue and were just about 5 minutes late checking in as we wanted to grab our shoes prior to dining. Once we checked in, the host seemed a bit frustrated I assume since we were late, and she’d already marked our name off of the reservations list. The meal itself was incredible and for my first time having Swiss fondue I was extremely pleased. However when it came to paying the same woman that checked us in informed us that due to an error with their system they were unable to divide the bill in half. I’ve worked in the service industry for many years, so I asked for clarification on this, as I’ve been able to simply charge the divided balance for guests on many occasions, but instead of informing us that she was unable to do this, she scoffed and told us that it couldn’t be done. I am from the U.S and my partner is Swiss so exchanging money for the two of us is difficult, but we decided we’d just figure it out later. She then told my partner in German that I shouldn’t be mad, she wasn’t treating ME any differently than any other guest. I then told her that she could’ve at least been kind informing us of this issue and that her attitude wasn’t appropriate. She then cut me off and said to have a nice night and that we could leave. We went back to our table to gather our things and I watched her point me out to some of her staff and then they all started laughing. So I walked back up to her and told her that if there was an issue with her treating me HUMANELY and communicating a technical issue, it is her job to simply be kind while doing so. She proceeded to tell me to “bite it” in German as my partner translated. I was a bit offended by this as I wasn’t sure if she had a personal issue with my sexuality or my race, but for this reason I don’t plan to return. The space itself is wonderful but nobody deserves to be treated this way. The fondue is INCREDIBLE, but I don’t recommend this space for BLACK people or LGBTQ...
Read moreReview for beginning of January 2025, a Saturday morning. No que, perfect galssy ice, fast access and nice indoor shoe "exchange" and skates on-boarding area with benches.
Shoes stayed inside, at warm temperatures, unguarded. There were a lot of lockers, but these were probably assigned to regular hockey players.
The Dolder ice rink is just what you need, kids had lots of fun. Located in the middle of a picturesque forest, it is the largest outdoor artificial ice rink in Europe, with an area of 6,000 m².
There are 2 zones: A) free skating rink, biggest I've been skated on B) dedicated hokey zone, allowing one to shoot some passes and kids to get familiar with the stick & puck /sport.
💰 Cost of visit: Adults (from 20 years): CHF 8.00 Teenagers (from 16 years): CHF 6.00 Children (from 6 years): CHF 4.00 children under 5.99 years FREE
Skates can be rented on site for CHF 8.00 and helmets for children are provided free of charge. There were also 2 types of supports for beginners: penguin shaped supports (quite heavy) to push and some chiar like suports. The latter were just perfect.
🍽️ Restaurant: Next to the rink there is a restaurant where you can enjoy some food and some drinks. Fast-food like experience, however it's something you could do while wearing the skates.
Payment accepted by card also contactless or tap to pay. A paid parking zone was available in the vicinity, but one need some luck to find a free spot.
Two recommendations for improvements :

Read morei went there with my kids and husband for the kids ice skating class. there was no person at the ticket desk near the entrance and everyone else was just putting their ice skates and going on the ice skating ring.` many parents were also there, that were just to help their kids.
i decided to also rent some ice skates. i was very surprised when i was asked to pay the entry fee 8 (ok, fair, although it seems that only the people who rent pay it), but also the spectator fee for my husband. that i am sure it was only him from all that crowed. kind of unfair for us to pay 2chf to help some 4y old kids to put their skates.
we also didn't know he was charged 2 chf (the receipt we received it at the end) otherwise i would have told him to wait outside.
as i look in the page with the admission prices i do see the 2 chf spectators fee and my main complaint it was that we were not told what were paying for. i went and ask how much cost to rent 1 pair of ice skates and the amount that was given was with this included not broken down into skates, entry,...
