During our visit to “The Restaurant” in Zurich, which boasts 2 Michelin stars and 19 points on Gault & Millau, we were deeply disappointed and felt the need to leave after only the second amuse-bouche. Here’s why:

Reservation Troubles: Upon our arrival, the staff took an astonishing 15-20 minutes to locate our reservation. Despite being assured during our check-in just a few hours earlier that our reservation was confirmed, we were told at the restaurant that no such reservation existed. Allergy Mishaps: Ahead of our dining experience, we informed the reception of specific allergies around 45 minutes before our meal. We reiterated these allergies when we were first presented with the amuse-bouche, only to find two containing the very allergens we mentioned. When ordering, we once again emphasized the allergies, yet were shockingly served a second set of amuse-bouche containing these allergens. The risk to my health was undeniable, and I was unwilling to jeopardize our entire trip over potential oversight that could result in a hospital visit. Staff Response: Throughout our interactions with the staff, including a discussion with the duty manager, we felt our concerns were taken lightly. It was as if no one grasped the gravity of serving food with allergens to someone with specific allergies.

In the end, we chose to cut our dinner short and leave. While the two glasses of champagne we had consumed were comped, the experience was unsettling and downright dangerous.

In a restaurant of such high calibre, one would expect meticulous attention to detail and utmost care for the well-being of their clients. Sadly, this was far from our experience at “The...

For any foodie, The Restaurant at The Dolder Grand in Zurich is an absolute must-visit. An enchanting ambiance permeates the establishment, complemented by flawless service and delectable fare.

Having dined at The Restaurant not too long ago, I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with each facet of the experience. All of the inventive and delectable dishes on the menu are prepared with the highest quality ingredients. The scallops that I began with, accompanied by black truffle risotto, were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The roasted pigeon with foie gras and black truffle sauce that I ordered for my main course was simply divine. Complementing the perfectly cooked pigeon with black truffle and foie gras sauce was an indulgent and delectable experience.

Additionally, The Restaurant offers exceptional service. They are knowledgeable and attentive, and they make every effort to ensure that your dining experience is memorable. I was especially impressed by the sommelier's assistance in choosing the ideal wine to complement my meal.

Similarly, the ambiance at The Restaurant is enchanting. In addition to its exquisite decor, the restaurant offers breathtaking vistas of Zurich. It is an ideal location for special occasions or for a memorable meal in...

The Restaurant at Dolder Grand delivered on its 2 Michelin stars. We had a perfect night from walking into this elegant and luxurious establishment to the goodbye by the head chef at the end of night. Staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and very nice. Service was impeccable. Ambience and decor were both chic and sophisticated. Food was extraordinarily and beyond expectations. Ingredients were fresh and unique. Presentation was artistic and colorful. We appreciated the attention to details in every aspect. Taste and flavors were complex and unique. We pretty much liked all our courses, few highlights of the menu included Lobster with melon, Hake with chorizo and Wagyu-cheek with herbs. Desserts were delicious and a special birthday cake for me was the cherry on the top. It did have literally a cherry on top by the way. Wine pairing was perfectly chosen and complimented dishes very well, they even have non alcoholic pairing and champagne which was kinda interesting as well. Overall, we had a memorable experience and will definitely consider when...

We had the 10 course dinner + paired wines. We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours we spent there. Every course as well as the amuse bouche were incredible, both in taste and in looks. The plates themselves were boring (all white) compared to what we've seen elsewhere but that's probably by design: so we focus on the food itself. The pace was also great throughout the dinner. The wine pairing is really expensive (more expensive than the meal itself) which is a bit outrageaous, but we'd say at least half the wines really were fantastic extensions of the corresponding food, which isn't always the case (sometimes it's just a nice pairing, but not really that magical chemistry), so we'd recommend it. If you'd like to save and don't want to be too drunk at the end of the meal or throw away half the wine, you can ask to share one wine pairing for 2. Probably an outrageous thing to do, but we resent paying and then throwing away so much good wine so this arrangement works great for us.

We came for the Amuse-Bouche lunch menu that is currently being offered on Thursdays and Fridays only. The meal came in five courses, each consisting of three amuse-bouche sized portions. So this totals basically to a fifteen (!!!) course menu albeit in small portions, but for us this was the ideal entry point to get to know Heiko Nieder's cuisine. All dishes were top notch, displaying immaculate craft, innovation and product quality. It's easy to see why this is being considered to be Zurich's best restaurant by the respective guides. Apart from the amuse-bouche courses we also were served a sequence of snacks upfront and petit-four to end the meal with, those were excellent as well. Other than the food: The dining room is luxurious, the wine list is extensive and it's contents are very expensive, as is the wine by the glass selection. Service is welcoming and genuinely friendly.
