It is a great visual experience, though for this price I would expect more. Positive things: it is beautiful, immersive, interesting visual effects. Space is barrier free, you can easily come with stroller or a wheelchair. There are different zones to enjoy: soft pillows to lay down, sits, kind of balcony and even some sofa to lay and enjoy some visual effects with mirrors. You can rent a headphones with translation to English or French (show itself us in German).
Negative things: the room itself was not initially designed for such kind of show: there are some r even parts of walls, which destroy the projection on it. So not every view is good. What irritates me more - is different brightness of projections. The best and more sharp is only on the main floor, but there are a lot of things also on a side walls and columns in the hall, and columns have the most pale pictures. And this difference force your eyes to adjust to it and considering jumping focus from one wall to another it destroys part of enjoyment. At the same time show is arranged from the central wall, but if you want to enjoy the full picture and not a side look, you will lost the center of composition as it will be behind you and no mirror to see what is behind you. That causes sometimes stupid situation, when you look to the completely dark hall with the only picture just above your head, which you cannot properly see as it is too close and too high.
But the good point: you can watch the show as long as you want, seeing it from different prospective. One circle is about 40 min with couple of min break in between.
With have been already to 3 shows with small kids, and even they were attracted by lights and pictures. But not all shows are equally good, Frida Kahlo was one of the best, Monet was pretty average, and Klimt - relatively good.
It is worth to see it, though there is a room for...
Read moreI went there to visit the Picasso exhibition, at lunch time during a working week. There is first a corridor with written explanations, then a small room with a small film about the creators of the exhibition. On this initiative I am in doubt, as this film sounds at moments a bit narcissistic, and I would have preferred a film about Picasso himself.
Then you finally arrive the main room, which is a big warehouse with projections of Picasso pictures on the walls, on the ceiling and a bit on the floor as well. The accompanying music was appropriate. The show is sequenced by periods of Picasso artistic life, which makes it easy to follow. If you are an art fan, you can easily enjoy yourself in this atmosphere for quite a significant time, especially as a lot of sitting places are available.
I personally liked the experience, but I still find it a bit below similar experiences that you can find in Paris or by the Baux-de-Provence. The main differences are twofold: 1) in the other experiences, you had the explanations in the same room as the main show, that created variety and that makes it easier to follow. 2) in the other locations, the organisation of the area is more varied, for instance with reflections on water or a 360 immersive small room with mirrors.
Overall: still an enjoyable exhibition if you...
Read moreI was really looking forward to this exhibition and expected a deep, emotional journey through the real story of the Titanic — as the advertising suggests. The first part feels like a historical setup, with text panels, maps, and a few small objects. It’s interesting for a moment, but quite minimal. Then, in the main 360° projection, the focus shifts completely to a fictional story about a father and his daughter. The visuals are nice in parts, but the storyline feels rather childish and doesn’t fit the historical atmosphere built up before.
It’s a pity, because with that projection technology they could have created something truly powerful — showing the timeline of the sinking, the people, and the emotion of that night.
The VR experience was pretty cool, especially you could move/walk around. And the setting/story of the VR experience was actually what I hoped to see in the big projection hall as well. It just felt that it was not a complete story but a mix of seperate elements put together.
Overall, it’s still a pleasant visit once, but the experience doesn’t reach the depth or drama that the...
