This historical landmark is called 王杨明 铜相 i.e. Bronze Statue of Wang Yangming. Wang Yangming was a Neo-Confucian philosopher. He was also a general, a politician & a renowned writer & calligrapher during the Ming Dynasty.
This mountain range Yangmingshan was named after him.
The statue is located near the carpark - just a short walk upwards the tar road. But if you are coming from the inner park - from the Flower Clock, Xinhai Guangfu Hall or the waterfall, then a short leisurely hike / walk required.
