This historical landmark is called 王杨明 铜相 i.e. Bronze Statue of Wang Yangming. Wang Yangming was a Neo-Confucian philosopher. He was also a general, a politician & a renowned writer & calligrapher during the Ming Dynasty. This mountain range Yangmingshan was named after him. The statue is located near the carpark - just a short walk upwards the tar road. But if you are coming from the inner park - from the Flower Clock, Xinhai Guangfu Hall or the waterfall, then a short leisurely hike / walk required. Translation of the sign by the statue: [Yangming Park was formerly known as "Houshan Park". It was later renamed "Yangming Park" in memory of the Ming Dynasty scholar "Wang Yangming". The "Wang Yangming Bronze Statue" was erected in the park by the International Lions Club & the Japan Arima International Lions Club in a joint donation on May 15, 2018.]

陽明公園十景#6, 後面是#7 溪流哲學步道 銅像「王陽明」先生是中國著名的哲學家。堪比孔子的政治家、軍事家以及開創「心學」的哲學家，其實包括陽明山國家公園和前國立陽明大學的取名，都是為了紀念這位儒將。 王守仁生於明朝(西元1472年)，浙江紹興府餘姚縣人，字伯安，號陽明子，官場生涯中曾平定寧王朱宸濠叛亂，以此軍功封「新建伯」，這對舉人進士出身的文人相當難得。他從小就隨父親縱馬遊歷各地，了解大陸山川地理，少小時即胸懷大志，以做聖人為志業，並力行南宋哲學家朱熹的思想哲學「格物致知」，曾花了7天7夜窮「竹」之理，最後卻無成果，而開始對該系統的理論產生懷疑。 極度艱苦環境下，王陽明體悟到「心才是萬事萬物的根本」，要透過格物致知尋求道理，未免繁雜疲累，因此從心出發，且要「知行合一」。 因為先總統蔣公對王陽明的景仰，「陽明心學」等相關學說是國軍高階軍官團必修科目，其中對「知行合一」、「致良知」等哲學思想印象深刻，從軍校開始打下的基礎，至今非常受用。
