Today, I visited Bitan for water dance show and fireflies natural tour. At Hsindam in the new Taipei city, the Bitan HoMeishan (Mt. HoMei) Touring Firefly Trail can be traveling in short distance to reach by MRT. A lot of fireflies have emerged this week. I enjoy visiting the natural contact at green spring every year. The most beautiful natural scenery of the fluorescent. In fact, the water dance show for about five minutes is not very attractive. The charm of Bitan is still suitable for couples, strolling on a cool night, and love. This week, in the grassland next to the Great Buddha Temple, it appears quite dense of fluorescent flying spots. The experts suggested Seven o'clock is the highest peak. After eight o'clock, the firefly mating gradually decreases, and it sinks into the grass. The firefly watch is free and take a short distance in 10 minutes by jogging from the trail. If you live in Taipei, you can take some time to walk, it is worth it. This is not a full-fledged firefly, but also a light hazard, but it is very close to Taipei.
Read moreWe walked the old street that was lined with stalls first before reaching the hanging bridge. The street was quite clean. Not all street stalls were opened as it was a weekday. But there were stalls selling foods, tidbits as well as ice creams.
The moment we stepped onto the bridge, we were marveled by the serenity and beauty of Bitan riverside. I loved this spacious and peaceful park with a few water activities. As it was a weekday, the restaurants and bistro beside the river were closed. Closed to evening, the river boating activity was also closed. There were visitors paddling their own canoes and dog walkers happily jogging with their pups leashed. Some visitors sat by the steps of the river to read their books.
Bitan had a backdrop of greenery, yet interwoven with modern houses/buildings situated facing and along the river. Really feeling relaxed having a stroll here, the pace was calm and slow, especially at sunset, especially after a hard day’s work. There was a restaurant or coffee house up on the hills, we didn’t visit as we were heading for dinner in town.
Residential and leisure were a great mix here — a blend of both comfortable living & lifestyles. If there’s another opportunity, I would like to...
Read moreThe "scenic" area is not bad, but lets be real, its not all that spectacular. Lets just say this isn't one of those riverside/lakeside parks where you can just sit and get some peace and quiet. It's a pain to park nearby and the food and drink options aren't that great. Follows the usual formula - they had a nice area, but end up squandering it because they want to make a quick buck and can't enforce any semblance of order. Always noisy, coupled with the fact that it usually gets super-crowded, just isnt' worth visiting on the weekends. Just to name a few problematic items experienced in our last visit there: Lorries driving up and down the sidewalk/bike walkway for deliveries/ trash pickup, kids on bikes racing down the sidewalks (with no concern for pedestrians), restaurants that stuff as many tables as they can into the designated areas, as well as squeezing into the walkways a bit, making a chore to even get in. Half hour waits for boats, and floating trash in the water. Honestly, the more I am writing this the more I wonder why I ever visit this place. Even if I haven't managed to dissuade you, please, for the love of all that is good come during a weekday and take the...
