This mountain trail is very easy to access. Just take the MRT to Xindian Station and walk across the Bitan Suspension Bridge. The trail starts with a staircase in a small alley on the left — it’s clearly marked, so you won’t miss it.
I’ve done this trail twice. If you’re in generally good health and walk regularly, the full loop is doable — a bit tiring, but manageable. However, if you mostly work a desk job and don’t walk much, you might want to stick with the shorter loop. It’s easier and doesn’t include the steeper uphill sections that the full loop has, which can be more exhausting and time-consuming.
On my second visit, I went just after a typhoon. Some trees had fallen and railings were damaged, but the path had already been cleared, so it was still safe. It added a bit of adventure to the experience!

Well-maintained trails (well, at least before the typhoons struck). The Blue Coast Trail lies alongside the Xindian River while the Mountain Coast Trail leads you to the mountain peak.
