A great park to relax in and do park type activities, have a picnic, play frisbee, fly a kite or even a spot of fishing (although I've no idea if you need a licence for that)
Easy to access as it's directly on the brown line of the MRT (BR20) which is at the entrance of the park.
Be warned it gets very busy when the weather is good. Go early/late enough you'll avoid the rush.
For the bird spotters there are a good variety of birds year round, ducks, geese, various egrets and even occasionally kingfishers!
Facilities are good, bathrooms are available in the park and at the MRT, the station also houses vending machines and a shop , and a couple of restaurants and shops close by.
Internally there are a scattering of different varieties of trees, a small, shallow pond in which a lot of birds fish and a large lake, which is spanned by a moon bridge (and a lot of people taking selfies) with a floating island populated by egrets. Activities/events are occasionally staged here, which can be good, or annoying if you just want a quiet walk but they seem infrequent, still worth checking.
All in all a great place to while away the hours if you just want to be a nice green space...
Read moreHave visited this park over the past 30 years and seen it went from a rugged rural park in the 90’s to now a fascinating urban park with incredible upgrades. It’s hard to imagine at one point in the past two decades the lake was half dried up and almost deserted. It truly warms my heart to see the park in its current condition. So nice to see the city have invested into eco friendly floating island, wind/solar power generator, urban garden and many other upgrades over the years. So many wild life here with the iconic egret 白鷺鷥 everywhere.
Highly recommend to take MRT to Dahu park station and take a morning stroll or even take a short hike up the mountain. As the scenery is beautiful, you would also frequently see movies and drama being...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful parks I've been here in Taipei! We went on a weekend so there's a lot of people who are camping and having a picnic so I think it's best to go earlier or on weekdays.
I love going to these parks because they're so relaxing and peaceful. They give you a chance to just be alone with your thoughts and enjoy the view of nature around you. If you don't have time to go hiking or camping or if you're too busy with work or school, this is a perfect substitute.
