One thing you have to know about this hotel is that during the hot summer days or during hot days with 85 degrees or higher, their Central air conditioning system cannot keep up with the hot weather. Hotel temperature will be in the 80 degrees to 90 degrees range. Even during the evening your room could be in the '80s or higher depends on how hot the day was. You can't really open the windows because outside air is probably hotter than your room. The fan helps but not really. So if your type of person that hates hot room this is not the hotel for you.

Another thing is that their Wi-Fi is not very stable in the evening and night, because when all the guests return. Their Wi-Fi can't handle the volume of data. I am pretty sure they are still using the old Wi-Fi set up, pre-5G

This place is a hidden gem considered it's location that is facing the Daan Park. In Europe, this hotel will be considered boutique hotel. Google definition of boutique hotel is at the end of this review.

They are getting very popular especially due to their price point. If you'd like to stay here you might want to reserve it as soon as you can because it is a small hotel. They have less than 100 rooms available and only two type of rooms to choose from.

It is also close to Taipei MRT entrance and very close to bus stations that include many major bus routes. Those bus stop are just step away from the hotel.

This place was originally designed for a romantic getaway within bustling City of Taipei. That's why you see all those detail of Crown moldings and expensive wood paneling and art decorations. They even have fresh cut flowers throughout the public area of the hotel. You only find this type of fresh cut flower at the five star hotels which will cost you five time the cost of this one. Why this hotel cost less, it is because their marketing strategy, too old fashioned thinking. But it is great for us.

If you are in the real estate business or construction business, You can tell this hotel cost a lot of money to built, just look at the details on all the tiles in the bathrooms and everything else. Some people might felt the hotel it's dated but if you like old world charm this is the hotel you want to stay in. It is much better than those high price hotel with boring decoration and nothing to enjoy seeing while walking down the hallway.

The room are considered bigger than typical two-person room, but due to lack of room selection that if you have a large family, You need to book at least two rooms to accommodate everyone. The best part is that they have free laundry facility that you could do it yourself.

And the most important thing is that they have a garage where you could park your car for free or your friends or family's car when they come and visit you.

Google definition of boutique hotel: A boutique hotel is a small, stylish, and independently owned hotel that offers a personalized experience to its guests:

Size: Boutique hotels are usually smaller than chain hotels, with fewer than 100 rooms

Design: Boutique hotels have a distinct character and intentional design and decor

Location: Boutique hotels are often located in fashionable urban areas, such as city centers or downtown...

We stayed almost three weeks in this hotel in European Luxury Room with two children. A room was very spacious with a separate hall where we could keep bogie, shoes etc. A bathroom was really big with a large shower and a big jacuzzi bath. ||Every day they were bringing us four bottles of mineral water and in afternoon fruit and little Taiwanese sweet snack. ||There is a possibility to do a washing, fee of charge. Even they give a washing powder in the reception without charging. ||The staff at the reception was exceptional in all sense. The cleaners ladies were very nice although don't speak English but we could pass our messages via reception to them. All the receptionists speak very good English.||||The breakfast was a real pleasure to see and to eat. All fresh, delicious, tasty. A big choice of Asiatic hot meals, vegetables, fresh fruits and three kinds of rice every day. Moreover they have also some bread, eggs and sausage and a hot ham, cereals etc. For three weeks we did not get bored or annoyed with the food because they really change it and you can see that they make effort to satisfy guests.||We liked very much oolong tea and a coffee. They also were giving us some tea and coffee to our room where we had a kettle and a fridge. ||We were paying every day for a breakfast as we found out that financially it was more interesting to rent a room without a breakfast and pay it separately.||||The only thing which hotel could improve for guests comfort is to place a sofa in the lodge as there is nothing to sit down while waiting for taxi and while it gets very hot outside.||||Their air conditioning system was very efficient which is not a case of all buildings in Taipei we learnt. Another extra thing about this hotel is that they have every day fresh flowers in main lobby and on each floor there is a small bouquet of flowers. It gives a fabulous fresh scent in the hotel's corridors.||||The location of the hotel is EXCELLENT. Two min walking to a metro (not busy metro station). You can easy visit from this station all Taipei, so well connected. ||There is a great coffee place on the left hand side when you get out of a hotel and plenty of possibilities to eat in or take away. ||||Daan Park which is opposite the hotel is extraordinary. It is much better that Botanic Garden. Biodiversity in this park is striking, every day you can observe different birds, butterflies etc. There are plenty of turtles and exotic plants, flowers and trees. People do thai-chi, falun-gong, play music instruments. You can observe in this park a life of Taiwanese people and their habits. There are plenty of toilets, water stations and amazing playground for children. A very relaxing, peaceful place. ||||I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to...

Stayed here for several nights while having business meetings in Taipei.

The hotel is just next to Da'an Park subway station and, yes, directly opposite the Da'an Forest Park. The location is convenient because you can get to lots of places using the subway. The park is a nice place for a walk, and also reduces the feeling of being in the midst of a concrete jungle.

I stayed in a "Standard Room with One Queen Bed, Park View". I asked for a room on a higher floor, and they gave me one that's just below the top floor. The view from the room was really nice, I could see the entire Da'an Forest Park (which is a huge park) from the window, and the greenery really made me feel like I wasn't in the middle of a city.

The size of the room was relatively small, though still with enough space around the bed. The room was nicely decorated: the side tables, the table, the wardrobe were all of antique wood style. The bed was comfortable. Apart from the bed, there's also a reclining couch next to the big window. The bathroom (spacious enough, with a bath tub and a shower) has a big window that you can look out (or look in, depending on your point of view); though you can indeed close the window.

Breakfast is the typical Chinese style breakfast (porridge, soup, vegetables) that most hotels in Taiwan serve, with addition of scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, toast, fruits, coffee and tea. The selection is adequate though not great. They only start serving breakfast at 7am, which is kind of late.

Internet connect was generally good, though occasionally the routers seem to be unable to connect to the internet; i.e. you're able to connect to the hotel's wifi, but there's no onward connection to the internet. This can be an inconvenience, especially when I needed to get work done but unable to reach the internet.

The hotel staff were friendly, even the house-keeping ladies.

Overall, I've enjoyed my stay, and would definitely stay at this...

Pro: large room and bathroom (esp for asian standard), big jetted tub even in standard room, VERY well equipped room that has everything you’d need (even dental floss!), very helpful and respectful staff and cleaning ladies that are on par with 5 star hotel service (I speak Mandarin so I can’t speak for foreigners), very good sound proof. Overall, it’s a proper luxury hotel for a somewhat affordable price Con: dated. Bathroom looks significantly old and even moldy in some spots. Can see cracks. Bathroom really needs a touch up. Location: it’s not the most central and convenient neighbourhood, but it’s a decently upscale neighbourhood with good food. Note that since it’s upscale, there isn’t much street food around (only a few stands), so it might be a turn off for some. If you wake up early or stay up very late, there aren’t many food options nearby outside regular hours, which is frustrating

Thank you to put a snack everyday in my room, and to keep the room clean. I get the best view from 10th floor, straight to Daan Park, it's like a little forest in the heart of city. Also the window in the room can open, so i can breath fresh air easily. Even though the location in front of the road street, but it's not noisy.
