The barber I was set up with was so rude I sat on the chair for 15 seconds and then left shortly.
They told me the wait was 30 minutes and as I stepped outside for fresh air, received a call from them 10 minutes later, I missed the first call because I was already walking towards their front door. As I get in, the barber (young/short) waiting for me at the front desk sounding impatient with me for missing their call? As we move to the chair, they ask me in mandarin what hairstyle I’d like, and I replied, “你知道the hairstyle, ’mullet’是什麼嗎?” they replied “你給我看照片” in mandarin. I showed them the photo. The look on this barbers face after seeing the hairstyle I wanted looked like I was covered in 狗大便. Comical but emotionally damaging. “你可以說中文嗎?” they demanded.
I would say while my mandarin was pretty poor, I spoke maybe 50% English and 50 % Mandarin. 我覺得我的中文還OK🥹 so I was really surprised the barber was so rude and impatient!

What stroke me was her attention to detail, where she parsed for single hairs. She was also very careful when handling the machines.
All in all I am very satisfied and have but one regret: I wish my Chinese was better so I could find out more about her through chitchat. I’ll definitely come back if I’m around again and...
