Pros: • Good location • Friendly tuk-tuk driver • Spacious rooms (apartment-style hotel) • Green hotel which is good for sustainable environment. • Good value
Cons: Here’s the deal: I went there with my wife and 4-year-old child at 4pm—after the check-in time—so the room should have been ready or at least assigned. We were told to wait 15 minutes for room preparation, but after 30 minutes, our name still hadn’t been called. I went to check, and they admitted they had forgotten about us, but said the room would be available in another 15 minutes. When we finally got the room, it was the wrong one: a twin bed, not a king. When I asked why, another staff member told us she misunderstood and thought I wanted a twin bed. In reality, I hadn’t made any such request—I just signed the paper and double-checked that it was clearly written as a king bed, per my booking, then waited patiently. I suspect the confusion was because the group before me was complaining about their twin beds and asking for a single bed or a free upgrade to a bigger room. But why should I be affected by their mix-up? Eventually, we got our correct room, but it seemed dusty and not really clean, as if it had been prepared in a rush.
The next day, when we went for breakfast and asked for missing plates and spoons, the staff told us our table “wasn’t ready yet.” Why didn’t they say so earlier when we sat down? They only responded after we noticed and asked.
Never mind, it seems we were just unlucky this time. We shared our feedback with the manager and hope they will make improvements...
Read moreTwo days after our return from holiday, Bangkok was so happy to see us that the ground shook! 😄 (28/3/25 earthquake). The following day, the company my wife was working for offered to temporarily relocate us away from Bangkok because of aftershocks. We slept on it for one night and decided to take the offer because our building hadn’t been safety inspected yet.
So we decided to spend 7 wonderful nights here at the Somerset Harbourview Sri Racha for its big room with full amenities, covered parking, and of course reasonable price (no breakfast).
To sum it up, we loved this place. It’s very good! The only minor gripe we had was that there seems to be a shortage of housekeepers. Arrival was a little messy because our room wasn’t ready, and we had to call the front desk everyday to ask for housekeeping to come and clean our room in the afternoon. Otherwise everything was fine. The cleaning lady does a very good job cleaning our room, and changed our linens daily. No problems there. Maybe it’s just bad management, I don’t know.
One complimentary service we especially like was the tuk tuk service to near by places and shopping malls. This gets a little busy in the evening as guests go out for dinner. The driver was always very polite and friendly. Thank you for...
Read moreI will definitely going back when go there next time. I stayed in one of their family room (1 king sized, 1 queen sized bedroom, 1 living room). The rooms are very nice and offer many commodities. Full sized refrigerator and washing machine. A kitchen with all your basic cooking ware. All the staff is very polite, friendly and attentive to both natives and foreigners. There are even a tuk-tuk you can request to send/pick you up around the local areas (I kinda abuse the service and didn't use my car at all if it was just 1-2 km from the hotel. lol). There is also a pool and gym with sauna (sadly due to Covid19 the sauna was closed). They have roomservice to clean your room everyday (some hotels in Thailand will only restock your commodities). I didn't have a chance to try their food because my trip was all about food in the local area but from what I smell in the morning it seems to be pretty good. And one last thing they have vending machine at the ground floor with normal price so you don't have to worry about pricey hotel...
