Came here as a couple, and we absolutely loved it. Prices are super reasonable for the amount of time you spend here, and the quality of food. Highly highly recommended! 1) Instructor Goong is so friendly and bubbly! We felt welcome the moment we met the group at the MRT station. She took the time to remember our names and made special mention of things we liked (we love mangoes and wanted our food to be non-spicy). She is very proficient in English and made us feel very comfortable. 2) Everything was planned out really well, and staff were extremely thoughtful. We were provided with a fan (to keep ourselves cool at the market), a basket (to keep the food that was purchased), and a nice ice cold bottle of water. 3) Market tour was super interesting, and Instructor Goong explained the different ingredients that we would be using throughout our cooking process. We requested for her to help us pick out some less ripe mangoes so that we could bring it home with us, and she happily agreed. 4) We loved the interactiveness of the cooking process. We got a chance to literally work on every single dish that we made, from cutting up ingredients, to making our own fresh coconut milk and cream, to using a mortar and pestle to make curry paste. Instructor Goong made sure that everyone got a chance to work on preparing the ingredients at all times, making us feel very included in the process. 5) Everything is super customisable. We were able to adjust spice levels and ingredients based on our preferences. This ensured that everything we made was exactly how we liked it. Everyone also had their own cooking station, which meant that we all got a chance to cook our own food. Honestly a wonderful experience. 6) Instructor Goong is very thoughtful and attentive. She noticed that my partner was passing me the prawns from his Tom Yum Goong and quickly came over to ask if everything was okay, and offered to change the Pad Thai dish from prawns to chicken, seeing as how he did not eat the prawns. We thought that this level of detail and care was extremely sweet of her. 7) The helpers (or Cinderellas) were wonderful! Everything was prepped in an extremely timely fashion, and in a beautiful arrangement. 8) Siamese Cookery House's mini gift shop is super reasonably priced. We bought a traditional fan for only 50 baht! We wanted to get a mortar and pestle too, but unfortunately did not have enough luggage space to bring it home :( 9) Everyone at Siamese Cookery House is super friendly, and would go above and beyond to make your experience the best that it can be. Instructor Goong even helped us book a Grab to the next place that we wanted to visit, and recommended good food in the area. Overall a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend coming here. We will definitely be back to learn more recipes. As an added bonus, 3% of course fees go to charity!

We booked the cooking class at 1PM because there was a short tour to the wet market nearby. We were quite early to show up at the meeting point. Right after I sent them the message, they showed up and it was really easy to recognize them. They gave us a hand fan, a basket and a bottle of water. They were very friendly. They divided people into small groups of 6 people. We went to the wet market and chose some ingredients for our cooking then came back to the place by tuktuk. They told us about each ingredient and how to choose the best. It was almost the same as the wet market in Vietnam and we found many familiar ingredients. There were many local ingredients there and we could ask the guide as much as we wanted to. The place was located inside the small alley and it was very quiet. The guide led us to the small dinning room to rest for a while then we started our class. The next room was full of fresh ingredients which were herbs and spices there and we prepared before we cooked. The guide was super friendly and helpful to teach us how to prepare ingredients for each dish. It was super fun. Outside the cooking area was hot that day. Everything in the house looked so traditional and some of them were cute. We cooked, learnt the traditional recipes and shared our cooking together. Although we cooked the same dishes, the way we seasoned and decorated the dishes made the difference. When we finished cooking, it rained heavily and the guide told us to stay inside and wait until the rain was lighter. We had a chance to see the ground floor where there was some kitchen stuff and spices were sold.

My cooking session kicked off in the afternoon, starting with a visit to the local market to pick up fresh ingredients before diving into the actual cooking. From the beginning, our guide Nan was an incredible and friendly teacher, guiding us around the market and explaining the various ingredients we’d be using for our dishes. After the market tour, a tuktuk whisked us away to the cookery, and that’s when the fun began. We started with food prep, and Nan shared so many great tips on how to prepare the ingredients to make the dishes more fragrant and flavorful. Then the cycle of cooking and eating started and kept going! We made Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Massaman curry, and Mango Sticky Rice. And WOW, the food we cooked was AMAZING! I was stuffed by the end and felt like a chef for the day. I absolutely loved this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bangkok! Take a day away from the city’s hustle and make time for this class it’s so worth it. We also met some lovely fellow travelers during the session, and it was great to chat and hear stories from people from all walks of life. Loved every bit of it!

Wow...what a delightful experience...the random decision to do a Thai cooking class became the pinnacle of the entire trip. Seldom have we come out of an activity so amused & highly fulfilled. Kudos to the Siamese team for curating such a flawless and pleasing cookery episode. Everything was so perfectly organized right from the group & sort of the participants, morning market tour & purchase and how effortlessly each segment of the event was arranged that included preparation, cooking and dining. Chef Nam our teacher was such a gem with great knowledge on Thai food and even other cuisines as well. Well it goes without saying that the items prepared was a treat to the eye and so yummy and I am sure the whole bunch of people joined that day should be proud of themselves. Highly recommended and a must do in your Bangkok itinerary if you ask me. It will be a great achievement for even people with zero cooking knowledge.

Wow, was initially worried about going to this class alone, but the teachers and other attendees made this class so comfortable and enjoyable. I went for the afternoon session where we spent an hour at the market learning about and buying fresh produce that we would use later and took a short tuktuk ride to the cooking school. The house was so clean and beautified. Even the cooking setups were so pictureworthy. It makes you want to get to prepping and cooking immediately! Kru Nam was so good at keeping energy levels up, extremely encouraging and friendly, and showed an all-rounded proficiency at her job. We cooked one dish at a time and ate the food while it was hot. I loved every part of the whole experience and am sure to be back to try cooking other dishes. Highly recommend!

Definitely the best cooking class we’ve ever had, Khung and Naam (I’m so sorry if I’m misspelling!!🙏🏼) were both extremely nice. Khung was our teacher and she explained and showed everything not only with professionalism, but also with so much passion and care, it’s always a pleasure to be taught by someone who loves what she’s doing! This time Naam was the one cleaning and preparing everything for the next dish - the way the ingredients were presented was so pretty! All the ingredients were fresh, the house and all the equipment were super clean and with the precise instructions and sometimes help we managed to cook delicious authentic Thai dishes 😍
