Came here as a couple, and we absolutely loved it. Prices are super reasonable for the amount of time you spend here, and the quality of food. Highly highly recommended!

  1. Instructor Goong is so friendly and bubbly! We felt welcome the moment we met the group at the MRT station. She took the time to remember our names and made special mention of things we liked (we love mangoes and wanted our food to be non-spicy). She is very proficient in English and made us feel very comfortable.
  2. Everything was planned out really well, and staff were extremely thoughtful. We were provided with a fan (to keep ourselves cool at the market), a basket (to keep the food that was purchased), and a nice ice cold bottle of water.
  3. Market tour was super interesting, and Instructor Goong explained the different ingredients that we would be using throughout our cooking process. We requested for her to help us pick out some less ripe mangoes so that we could bring it home with us, and she happily agreed.
  4. We loved the interactiveness of the cooking process. We got a chance to literally work on every single dish that we made, from cutting up ingredients, to making our own fresh coconut milk and cream, to using a mortar and pestle to make curry paste. Instructor Goong made sure that everyone got a chance to work on preparing the ingredients at all times, making us feel very included in the process.
  5. Everything is super customisable. We were able to adjust spice levels and ingredients based on our preferences. This ensured that everything we made was exactly how we liked it. Everyone also had their own cooking station, which meant that we all got a chance to cook our own food. Honestly a wonderful experience.
  6. Instructor Goong is very thoughtful and attentive. She noticed that my partner was passing me the prawns from his Tom Yum Goong and quickly came over to ask if everything was okay, and offered to change the Pad Thai dish from prawns to chicken, seeing as how he did not eat the prawns. We thought that this level of detail and care was extremely sweet of her.
  7. The helpers (or Cinderellas) were wonderful! Everything was prepped in an extremely timely fashion, and in a beautiful arrangement.
  8. Siamese Cookery House's mini gift shop is super reasonably priced. We bought a traditional fan for only 50 baht! We wanted to get a mortar and pestle too, but unfortunately did not have enough luggage space to bring it home :(
  9. Everyone at Siamese Cookery House is super friendly, and would go above and beyond to make your experience the best that it can be. Instructor Goong even helped us book a Grab to the next place that we wanted to visit, and recommended good food in the area.

Overall a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend coming here. We will definitely be back to learn more recipes. As an added bonus, 3% of course fees...

We booked the cooking class at 1PM because there was a short tour to the wet market nearby. We were quite early to show up at the meeting point. Right after I sent them the message, they showed up and it was really easy to recognize them. They gave us a hand fan, a basket and a bottle of water. They were very friendly. They divided people into small groups of 6 people. We went to the wet market and chose some ingredients for our cooking then came back to the place by tuktuk. They told us about each ingredient and how to choose the best. It was almost the same as the wet market in Vietnam and we found many familiar ingredients. There were many local ingredients there and we could ask the guide as much as we wanted to. The place was located inside the small alley and it was very quiet. The guide led us to the small dinning room to rest for a while then we started our class. The next room was full of fresh ingredients which were herbs and spices there and we prepared before we cooked. The guide was super friendly and helpful to teach us how to prepare ingredients for each dish. It was super fun. Outside the cooking area was hot that day. Everything in the house looked so traditional and some of them were cute. We cooked, learnt the traditional recipes and shared our cooking together. Although we cooked the same dishes, the way we seasoned and decorated the dishes made the difference. When we finished cooking, it rained heavily and the guide told us to stay inside and wait until the rain was lighter. We had a chance to see the ground floor where there was some kitchen stuff and...

OMG! We spent few days in Bangkok and as a very foodie family doing a Thai cooking class was on our MUST DO list. We did lots of research and decided to book with Siamese, not only brilliant reviews but also flexible time slots and accepting kids (we had a 10,11 and 13 years old in the group!)

OMG was a success from the moment we met our teacher! The setting is brilliant, they have think about every single detail, so well decorated that straight away put you in the right mind set. They tough us 4 dishes, it is very interactive, you really have to do chopping, mixing, cooking, grinding, you do your own curry paste, coconut milk, fryingโ€ฆeverything including the kids! We Cooked the famous thai dishes: Tom Yum, Pad Thai, green curry and mango sticky rice. Very informative, the teachers seems to truly know everything about Thai food and she was really helpful, nothing was too munch effort!. And added bonus is that she will pick you from a nearby tube station and thereโ€™s a little food market - so munch authentic and real that many other markets (a bid for tourism like us if you ask me), really recommend to go a bid early and explore that market lots of things you donโ€™t find in other markets.

All and all a brilliant 20 out of 10 experience! Lots of FUN, the 3 hour flight away, everybody LOVED it! Money well spend and very Highly recommend! A big THANKS from us @Siamese...
