Lanta Hostel — Attraction in Ko Lanta Yai

I’ll start with stating, this place deserves some reviews and feedback, due to the fact it has been open now for only a couple of weeks it requires some very small insignificant Improvements to make it a perfect place! ||I’ll start with the good (amazing) points! Every room is new, clean and pleasantly designed with perfect air con, the toilets and showers are both very clean, and very modern! ||Now the amazing point is the pool access, it is a genuine 1 minute walk to the neighbouring resort of Phutara, and you’ll have unlimited access to the pool, their bar and their restaurant, I’ll state it is their bar and restaurant that they refer to on the hostels website and the only facilities at the hostel is a fridge with water and soft drinks, they also offer free toast, tea and coffee from 7-10am! They were still constructed some form of room downstairs! ||Now for the extremely minor downfalls, you’ll understand that once you stay here, for the level of luxury they are trying to achieve, these tiny things need to be resolved, they are minor and we are in no way fussy stayers! ||The bed in every dorm seems to be in the wrong location for the plug sockets! With a simple push of the bed to the other end of the wall they would be perfect, bed lights are also needed as the only option is the main room light (not great when you get a late arrival), the last note with the rooms are the very cheap lockers, big enough just to squeeze a day bag in, but we spent 20 minutes trying to get the key back in, just use your own locks. With the bunk beds moved to accommodate the plugs, a decent side locker would easily fit between the end of the bed and the wall! ||Second point seems to be an obvious one that maybe they just haven’t got around to yet, hooks in the showers! Such a simple option, but without them it turned the bathrooms into a bit of a naked fest of people retrieving their clothes and towel from outside! ||With this being a brand new hostel, the staff still seemed to be getting to grips with the running day to day, considering the owner already has the Phutara hotel resort, we heard a few customers state he was having trouble with using all the online booking sites, the hostel was stated full on one night we were there but for most of our 5 night stay we had a 4 bed dorm to ourselves! ||From the start of our stay to the end, he seemed to already be in full swing, happy and very friendly! They have their own scooters for hire too, everyone seemed to be very upset by the fact they rented the towels at 50 baht for your stay and it wasn’t a deposit, someone’s gotta pay for the washing right? ||Overall, the Lanta hostel comes highly recommended by us, and I’m sure within a few weeks, a few more reviews, this place will be exceptional, but even for now, it’s still amazing value for money in a...

Lanta hostel is by far the best hostel we stayed in our entire trip. Here’s why: ||Brand new, clean and modern||Plenty of space in room and shared bathroom, showers lovely powerful and warm. ||Staff friendly and helpful although there is a slight language barrier (to be expected)||You can use the facilities of the 4star hotel next door. The pool area is to die for. ||Koh lanta is very eco friendly and this hotel follows suit meaning there is only air con between 7pm-7am the rest of the time you have a fan in your room. It can become a little sweaty but not unbearable. ||The only downside to this place is without renting scooters your around a 10min walk to the nearest bars. Lanta Hostel give a relieved , no rush reception feeling when you just arrived. Give you detailed facility introduction. The shower room is spaces and super important no sand in ground when you step in. You could put your cloth, makeup pack, tooth paste in a cabinet near sink. They also provide locker to protect your passport. You could control the A.C. room temp as your prefer. When you take a nap, you could ask them to provide a helf hour A.C. and later with fan is so sweet. There are several trash cans along corridor and always keep clean. Much more than you could imagine ,they also notice sun to let my shoes dry quickly outside, just like your family. The tile paving and beautiful pool is as same as other resort.
