When we visited in mid May the water was not clear, and the waves strong , so only for the confident swimmer, as you can’t see the rocks below. It is a small sandy bay framed with rocks, so you have to be careful as there may be some scattered throughout under the water. We were disappointed with the quality of the water (not clear crystal blue) and tried each day for 4 days, every day the same (not clear and pretty Strong waves) . It could be the timing and the season but disappointing all the same from a swimming point of view . There is one makeshift beach bar serving smoothies, beers and cold fresh coconuts. This beach is truly stunning and offers the best sunset views on the entire island! Watching the sun dip below the horizon here is an unforgettable experience.
That said, beware of the giant, “mammoth-sized” mosquitoes that come out as soon as the sun starts to set. If you’re like me—a magnet for mosquitoes—be sure to spray yourself thoroughly before heading over. They don’t mess around!
There’s a short, dusty walk from the entrance to reach the beach, but it’s worth it. I recommend arriving early as it gets quite busy, especially closer to sunset.

Read moreThe beach was recommended to us and it is also very beautiful. It is relatively small compared to Long Beach, but it is good for swimming and snorkelling. There is a very nice section with some rocks at the edge, where you are somewhat protected from the many visitors and you can watch crabs in the sea. Unfortunately, there are only a few shady spots and the bar on the beach, if you can call it that, is ok for a drink but doesn't have a large selection of food (I wouldn't recommend it either).
