Tawaen Beach pier is a nice and reasonable facility. Watch your step when you leave the 30 baht boat as the stairs are not in good condition. The rest of the walkway is safe and fairly modern. When you leave the pier area you will meet the motorbike workers. They are not pushy and just trying to do their jobs.
