My experience at Tawaen Beach Resort was disappointing, and I consider it to be the worst hotel I've stayed at in terms of value for money. Despite the photos not suggesting an exceptional place, I thought that for the price paid (280 AUD for two nights), it would be at least acceptable. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a regrettable choice. The room lacked basic amenities: there was no bedside table, I had to use my suitcase as a table, there was no bedside lamp, and there wasn't even a bar of soap provided. The shower wasn't separated, resulting in a wet floor every time someone showered, and when entering the bathroom, you inevitably got your feet wet. The room was dark, especially our upstairs room, whose window faced the staff rooms, forcing us to close the curtains during the day for privacy, leaving the room dim and requiring us to turn on the lights. The breakfast was unsatisfactory, with no options and minimal offerings, there wasn't even butter for toast. Everyone received two fried eggs and two mini plastic sausages, with no choice available. There was no proper coffee available; they only provided instant coffee powder, and the cups were paper and the glasses were plastic, which is particularly harmful to the environment on an island already burdened with plastic waste. The management owned a dog that would urinate indoors. We noticed this during breakfast and reported it to the staff, expecting them to clean it up. However, they casually mentioned that the dog urinated constantly and didn't clean it up, resulting in people inadvertently stepping in the urine and dirtying the dining area floor. This lack of hygiene and disregard for cleanliness seriously impacted our dining experience. Additionally, the island as a whole turned out to be a tourist disaster: overcrowded during the day with tourists arriving on ferries from Pattaya, ruining the charm of the place. There were no local dining options, only tourist spots with inflated prices. Despite bringing snorkeling gear, we couldn't see any fish. In summary, my recommendation is to avoid the island altogether, and if you decide to go, definitely steer clear of Tawaen...
Read moreOne day, my husband and I came to Koh Larn and rented sunbeds at this hotel. The sunbeds here are the most beautiful and comfortable we’ve seen on the island. Later, we had lunch at the hotel’s restaurant — everything was delicious, though the prices are above average. We were greeted by a very kind woman — possibly the owner or the manager — who spoke excellent English. We had a lovely conversation with her, and she warmly recommended staying at the hotel overnight next time.
Encouraged by that conversation, we visited the hotel again. While the staff were numerous, they didn’t seem particularly welcoming at first. Still, we decided to book a room through an app. Unfortunately, I made a mistake with the date and accidentally booked a night from June 6 to June 7 instead of June 7 to June 8. I was very upset but understood that it was my own fault, and I didn’t expect a free stay or anything of the sort.
However, we arrived at the hotel at 9:30 AM on June 7, and technically, our stay was still valid until 11–12 noon. I politely asked if we could at least relax on the sunbeds for a couple of hours. To my disappointment, we were told we could only sit for one hour on the small, uncomfortable, cheap sun chairs.
Is this what customer service looks like? At the very least, the staff could have let us use the proper sunbeds for a few hours and offered us the breakfast we had already paid for. The sunbeds were all empty — even if we stayed there the whole day, the hotel wouldn’t have lost anything.
I’m very disappointed. Yes, the booking mistake was mine — but your staff had the chance to be kind and make us want to come back. We would have continued using your sunbeds, dining at your restaurant, and staying at your hotel in the future. You could have at least offered some small gesture, a discount, or just treated us with a little more empathy. Instead, you took the money for a night we couldn’t even use — no cleaning, no breakfast, nothing provided.
To me, building a good relationship with customers is worth much...
Read moreWe are very impressed with the cleanliness, services, location, and restaurant food. We booked two large family room. The location is perfectly situated right at the beach. Swimming and relaxing underneath the beach is just 20 steps away. One room had a large queen size and a single bed with an added bed to sleep four people. The second room had bunk beds which we thought would be small hard bunk beds but it was not. The bunk beds were queen size and the mattresses were soft. The bed sheets and comforters were five star sheets and bedding. The bunk beds can sleep four easily. We added an extra bed so it sleeps 5 people comfortably. If you wanted, someone smaller can sleep on the sofa so that means you sleep six people with an added bed. It’s truly worth the price. The bathrooms and other amenities in the rooms and facilities are very clean and looks newly renovated. The staff at the reception, bar, and restaurant were very friendly and helpful in everything we asked for. We had drinks served at the beach, restaurant, bar, and in the rooms. All were well executed by the staff. One more thing, the public bathroom at the restaurant and bar is small but very clean and is always with toilet paper. For those to travelled in Thailand will know what this means. I am very impressed with this place. I would recommend it to all who comes to...
