My husband and I have had the adventure of a life time today.
An unforgettable morning making elephants their breakfast, hand-feeding them, giving them a shower and watching the elephants relax in their own private pool.
No elephant riding involved, purely for the conservation and wellbeing of rescued elephants. It filled my heart with so much joy to see how well the elephants were looked after.
We then visited the turtle conservation centre. Was wonderful to see the efforts being made by the Thai government to conserve and increase the number of turtles being released back into the wild.
Next we visited a wonderful Thai Restaurant serving the most delicious, traditional foods which was unbelievably fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend a visit to the Nai Muang Khao Lak Restaurant. The foo and atmosphere was sublime.
After, we went bamboo rafting, which was an unforgettable experience riding down stream, seeing all the beautiful flowers, trees and wildlife.
THEN finally, we finished the day swimming in a beautiful waterfall.
All of this, was well organised and ran by Eco Khaolak Adventure. Who provided us with a fantastic guide, Non. Who’s English was impeccable and who’s knowledge of the area lives in him as a person. His knowledge of animals, plants and birds was exceptional.
I would strongly recommend this company, and will definitely use again.
Please book directly through this local company, who reside within this beautiful area, rather than through these big commercial companies who are just in it for the money!
Thank you Non and your team for a first class, unforgettable day that we will...
Read moreEco by nature and by name. We did the half day elephant tour which included feeding the elephants, watching them bathe, then an AMAZING lunch at a real Thai restaurant (superb food where thai people eat) set in a beautiful garden, followed by a relaxing foot soak! Non our guide was simply fantastic and knew so much about the elephants, plants and wildlife. He shared so much knowledge and love for his country and its nature. He was so kind and sweet with our 18 month year old that our little boy didn’t want to say goodbye at the end! It was a very special experience - as animal lovers we were very keen to find a tour that was genuinely in the elephants best interest. I believe this is. They have changed the whole model and support elephants who would otherwise be logging or trekking up hills carrying heavy tourists for many hours a day. We had plenty of interaction but at a safe and respectful distance. Thank you for...
Read moreWe had a wonderful half day trip to the Elephant Sanctuary with a fantastic guide Non and driver Toe... Non is the kind of guide I love having when visiting other countries, open to share about life, culture, and his lived experiences, really enjoyed chatting with him! The elephants were lovely and clearly so well loved and handled by their experienced and dedicated mahouts. After we were taken for an outstanding Thai lunch in a beautiful restaurant in Bang Niang, and for a foot spa! Non studied agriculture so shared his knowledge of plants growing around us and pointed out interesting fruits and vegetables growing near by! Price for the half day was very reasonable, would happily recommend this trip to anybody, thanks so much to Non for all of his...
