I've been to three of the Patong markets and was rather expecting Chillva to be the same. Glad that expectation was not met! The people here are indeed chill! Quite dislike how at the other markets the stalls are pushy and aggressive. Sir! Sir! Where you from! Seafood, very fresh very cheap! What you like! And even block your path from walking past. None of that here. At most from behind the counter, they are saying hello and what they offer. Prices are reasonable, certainly better than Patong. Range is wider, bugs and fried quail. Despite what some commentators have said, there are ample chairs and tables at the back, which also has a stage for performances. The place also doesn't seem to get as cheek by jowl packed as the Patong markets, so it's a pleasure to walk through. Can't say much about the non food stalls, as they were mostly not yet open when I was there. And maybe it does get crowded after dark. Plus the performances probably start after dark too. The catch though, is it's a 20 minute ride from Patong, or ten minutes from the middle of Old Town. You need to rent a bike or catch a ride hail. Also it's not that big. You could easily amble through the place in half an hour. Certainly a stop to go to on your way to somewhere else. Note that it only opens from 5pm and not on Sundays.

Additionally, the market is a food lover’s paradise with a plethora of local specialties. The variety of food stalls offers everything from succulent grilled meats to fresh seafood and classic Thai dishes like sausages and meatballs. For a refreshing break, I highly recommend trying one of the mango passion fruit shakes available at the market. These shakes are not only delicious but also a perfect way to cool down after exploring the many stalls. Chillva Market also excels in creating a comfortable atmosphere for its visitors. There are several cozy spots throughout the market where you can take a rest and soak in the lively ambiance. Open from 5 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Saturday, Chillva Market is not just about shopping; it's an experience that offers delightful eats and shopping.

A literal food heaven, Chillva is the biggest night market in Phuket — they sell food, clothes & you can even find thrifted clothes, souvenirs and accessories too. 🚘 Getting there — Chillva is closer to old phuket town so if you're living in this vicinity you can either walk or call a taxi and It should be less than 200฿. Since we're staying in patong we had to order a bolt which was ฿492 ($19.30SGD) which is really pricey to be honest but it really is quite a distance (about a 30mins drive, we were also stuck in rush hour traffic so that was an additional 20-25mins 😀) There was SO MANY food to choose from, but we only wanted small bites, but dont worry! they do have a few shops with space to dine in, if you're feeling hungry for a full meal. ▪️ What we tried ▪️ • x4 fried squid ($0.50/stick) 15฿ • Potato twist ($1.17) 30฿ • Coconut shake ($1.17) 30฿ • Bacon Hotdog ($0.50) 12฿ • BBQ pork, beef, bacon ($0.50/stick) 12฿ • Mango sticky rice ($1.95) 50฿ 🪓 Total damage: $8.30 between the two of us 🤭😳 Honestly, I love this night market so much. There's about 4 rows of food stores, and despite being a hotspot for tourist the prices are not marked up 😋 There are definitely more locals than tourist tho, but still a huge crowd.

My friend and I were anticipating a lot of things to buy and do at Chillva. We arrived earlier than its open hours so we familiarize ourselves around the vicinity. The place was flocked by a lot of tourist and even locals mainly young groups (some still in their uniforms). There were lots of vibrant and trendy outfits, shoes, caps, bracelets, stickers,stuffed toys, and other comical stuffs you can choose from but it was quite expensive than we expected. On the other section it has local food stalls and even well-designed mini bars tho we never tried it since we were unimpressed by the price offers. Live bands starts later after 18:00 hrs at the center of the market itself. If you're planning to go from Chillva 》 Central Festival, local taxis are waiting and will offer yoy a fixed 300 THB rate unless you're good at bargaining (central market is just 10 minutes drive). Will strongly recommend if there are local transports that could bring us to Thalang road market and Naka market which is livelier and better than here. Nonetheless, we had some fun here!
