I went along December 2016 I just turned up by myself and walked in not knowing what to expect. Was told at the reception desk that I had to go as part of a guided tour? Ok,no problem. The tour guide was showing us around the place and telling us in detail about the palace in general,what we was seeing in each of the rooms and general history. I thought he was good. He was going between Thai,English and a bit of Chinese. There was more than I thought to see inside which was a bonus. Lots of history to learn about. The gardens are well kept and the gift shop was well stocked. I even bought something which is rare !! I stopped outside after the tour to take a few photos. Overall I enjoyed my visit.

Excellent visit. Great sight see... go with tour (twice a day) she will show u till every little detail. Alone u will not be allowed to go up in all the rooms. This palace belong to royal family Thailand back untill rama 5 stayed here. You will get an amazing view into their life and being. Through the many years Thailand had to stay strong to keep their beautiful country safe and strong. My blessing go out to rama 10 and the queen. 🎷📯💗 entrance is free be sure to donate if you can! The money is used to keep the builing and beautiful garden up. I seen many nice people here including staff and soldiers. All strong and proud work hard. Thank you men and women Kob khun krab and sawasdee pee mai!

Phyathai Palace, also known as Phya Thai Palace or Royal Phya Thai Palace, is a historic royal residence located in Bangkok, Thailand. It was built during the reign of King Rama V in the late 19th century and was primarily used as a residence for visiting royalty or foreign dignitaries. The palace is known for its beautiful architecture, blending traditional Thai elements with European styles. Today, it is occasionally used for royal ceremonies and events, but it is not open to the public as a tourist attraction like some of the other royal palaces in Bangkok.

"Beautiful and Romantic Palace" There are 2-3 rounds (9:30, 13:30 and maybe possibly additional round) of guided walk-around. Recommend to attend it as you can go to other floors which are not generally opened to all. The guides are trained graduates from Royal school and they are very keen in speaking English. Fee is very affordable at THB 60 for anyone regardless of Thai or foreigner. Please come on time for the guided visit. The tour takes around 1-1.5 hr. After finishing the visit, you may take a rest at the cafe on the first floor.

The Phya Thai Palace served King Rama V for a brief period, as he passed away just a few months after its completion. Today, it is integrated into Phramongkutklao Hospital, situated in the Ratchathewi District of Bangkok, Thailand. This facility functions as a military hospital for the Royal Thai Army and as a teaching hospital for Phramongkutklao College of Medicine, which prepares doctors for the Royal Thai Armed Forces, along with the Royal Thai Army Nursing College.
