According to Turkish law everyone is supposed to have the right to freely use Turkish beaches. Unfortunately, the D Resort Hotel does not let the public access this beautiful beach. We were greeted by a very rude hotel staff who told us we had to pay him 7200 TL (that’s €170 euro / $260 CDN) per person to access the beach and rent a sun bed. We did not want to rent a sun bed for the day - we simply wanted to have a quick swim after our lunch at the restaurant. This is the ONLY beach in Gocek so it is a real shame that the city council has allowed it to be privatized by a greedy hotel. All the locals go to the path at the right of the restaurant (not the grass sadly) and this jetty is public property, complete with steps into the clear blue sea if it’s just a swim you seek. Then dry off on the jetty and go for a great coffee in D Breeze restaurant.
Hope it saves you some money. The sea should be free for everyone...

My bad, when I was booking our villa at Portville I did not explore the situation well and thought we'd use a paid beach nearby, but totally did not expect to pay that much per person! Gunluklu beach is 15 mins drive away and offers a much more relaxing atmosphere, lots of space and privacy and equally...
