Mezegi — Restaurant in Fethiye

We were offered the fixed menu and accepted with pleasure. Fix menu included good selection of mezes (6 in total), 2 warm appetizers and a main dish. Service was good but the problem was when we were done with the main dish.

They asked whether we would like some tea or dessert and we only asked for 2 glasses of turkish tea (this is traditionally gratuit in all restaurants across Turkey) but the owner (or the manager, I do not know who he was) brought their “house dessert” along with 2 glasses of tea we asked for. I thought it was a treat but I did not realize we were “charged” for the dessert we “did not ask for” until I saw the check.

I still paid another %10-15 tip for the service we got, although did not touch the dessert and “treated the dessert to them” after paying for it while leaving, instead of them treating it to us (we literally did not touch the dessert at all after seeing we were charged for it)

I felt like I have been ripped off along with many additional items in the check (they charge 30-40lira as BYOB fee which they advise due to their limited selection of booze)

Summary: Decent food, ok service but TERRIBLE end to the night with an attitude that tries to rip you off like other tourist trap locations across west coast of Turkey.

This spot is a gem. Discovered them on a recent sailing trip in Gocek and decided to leave a review to support this lovely local business. You can of course dine at the spot (I did not hence no stars for the atmosphere as I did not get to experience it although I am sure its lovely.) Or you could order their mezes to the boat you are on and they will deliver it to you. All you need to do is request the menu, get back to them before 3pm with your order and your preferred time for delivery as well as share with them your location once you have docked. And then the food arrives at your boat step (literally). The cold dishes are all carefully stored in glass jars that arrive at perfectly cooled temperature. The warm plates also arrive pretty warm. They also deliver ice upon request - so if you are feasting with raki that night, ice would come in handy especially if you are on a boat with restricted freezer capacity. One of the meze dishes was missing from our order and when I informed the restaurant they delivered that too. So do try and see it...

One of the worst service in my life!!!! The food was actually good despite the small quantity for the price but no complaints about that, however the stuff attitude towards us destroyed the whole experience.. The stuff were so rude, it took them forever to even answer us and that’s every single time we ask smthg. No smile or any sign of being welcomed at all of any sort ! They refused to give us help when we asked even when we asked about directions after we finished the meal !
