Halfway through my experience here I was excited to write a raving review… let’s just say that didn’t happen but I’ll fill you in on the ups and downs.
I arrived and asked to see the prices. They were on the high side but I decided to give it a try.
The good; -beautiful building that seemed to be mostly clean and maintained. -amazing massage. -nice-ish people…
The bad; -when I was quoted prices and times (I’ve learned to ask these things, specially when appearing to be a tourist) I was told that I would receive a 30 minute scrub and a 30 minute massage…. Let’s start with the scrub… nice, but didn’t feel like it was thorough. I’ve received much better in Istanbul. It probably lasted 10 minutes after I was pulled from the sauna. Next, the massage. The massage was shotty at best as the guy kept yelling down to the other guys below having a conversation. The one good thing he did was worked my calves which were in desperate need. I asked for another 30 minutes and told him I would be happy to pay for more time. (Mind you, the first portion lasted 20 minutes at most) His response was 500TL for 20 minutes and I said “ok” (even though I was told it was 30 minutes originally) This was possibly the best 20 minute (second massage) that I’ve ever had. Not sure what happened in the first 20 as I happily would’ve returned for the massage alone. -after my massage I went back into the bath and soaped up to get the oil off my body. I came out and was told to relax and was offered a beverage. NEXT….. as I was kicked back relaxing and drying the massage guy looks at me and says “get dressed and pay”. I was shocked. This is the straw that broke the camels back. I got dressed and left. I pad the entire amount equaling to $51 USD while the massage guy waited for his tip. I left $65 TL ($2 USD) and walked myself on out of there. If you decided to give the place business you’ll need to be aware that you likely will not get what you pay for and you’ll be taken advantage of if you appear to be a tourist. I’ll be back with 20 or so friends in a few months and let’s just say I won’t be recommending this place to...
Read more(January 2023) A very nice experience inside (clean, spacious, well-maintained, beautiful smooth interior, good variety of services), but I have to lower the rating a lot because if you are a non-Turkish tourist they will definitely try to rip you off. Firstly, you need to learn the phrase “fiyat listesi” so that you can see the price catalogue, and start to bargain. The “banyo” (access to the bath) was listed as 150 TL, and the “köpük masajı” (foam massage) was 150 TL too (I don’t know if this is “foreigner list” or not because it seems to be more than whatever other people are saying in other reviews…), but the worst thing of all is that the owner tried to sell me a package of the two for a whopping 600 TL (=€30)..!!! I can’t understand why he ever thought anyone would pay that. I ended up paying the “official” prices, at a total of 300 TL for hamam and foam massage, but I still think that was too expensive since I’ve been to other local places in Istanbul for about 100-150 TL. Just go in ready to negotiate on the prices, and take your time to know what you’re buying and be sure they don’t rip you off. Apart from the...
Read moreI was a bit hesitant whether to go to this hamam after reading the reviews. I was pretty impressed, not the best service but better than I expected. They charge 400 TL/ 20 euros for hamam entrance with scrub and foam short massage (10 minutes) and at the end facial mask. You have included a drink in this price, towels, luggage room with a key. The lady who does the scrub and foam will also wash your hair very quickly.
The hamam looks a bit delapidated inside but I couldn't find any other hamam for women in Edirne. It would be grate if they'd clean your face mask too with a special sponge or something - they just sent me to clean it myself at the toilet (I can do that at home, I don't need to come to a hamam).
The complete package with oil massage etc is 850 TL or...
