The place was recommended to us. We went there 2,5 weeks ago (weekday), entering Turkey. It seemed to be a very busy place but we were seated in a very short time. Both livers we ordered (fried and grilled) cost 140 TRY. We asked for 2 Ayrans which we received in big glass cups with foam on top. Very nice! Later we found out that they have a big dispenser for it. Great idea. For that visit we would’ve given 4*. Yesterday we went back to eat liver again before we leave. It was Saturday but only a little more crazy than last time. There was one waiter who simply turned to deaf and no matter how often I tried to ask him: he didn’t react at all. We got another waiter who brought us again 2 Ayran, but this time the small, bottled version. We tried to tell him, that we’d prefer the glass cup version. He pointed at it, we said yes in Turkish and he never got back. It was incredible watching how they don’t care about their guests. Everything works like on an assembly line: just fast fast fast. For this visit it would’ve been 1*, but we still liked the liver, even though service...
Read moreFirst thing's first: The food is excellent. The fried liver deserves its reputation as Edirne's best.
Beyond that, this place left me with more questions than answers. The restaurant has hosts outside, and they are friendly enough, but I did get the distinct impression they were selected more for their capabilities as bouncers or bodyguards than their experience as maître d. They smiled and directed us to our seats in perfectly serviceable English, though, so nothing to complain about there.
The waiter handed me a menu and then immediately asked what I want to order. This was odd because I had just received the menu less than one second ago. Of course, I suspect that most people come for the fried liver, so perhaps that's common enough.
On another note, you get an extra plate of fried red peppers along with your liver. Their crunchy, delicious, spicy texture is beyond description. Hot, but not too hot. Like walking on coals on a freezing winter day. Awesome. Highly...
Read moreStay away from restaurant Aydin in Edirne. Waiters are extremely rude and aggressive, they are making bullying to clients, they argue with clients and if they are just kicking you out when the restaurant is about to close, even though they took your order and you just started to eat. Food is average and there are lots of places you can eat better. But the bullying is unbeliavable. They don't respect woman and tourists at all. Nobody speaks english except the guy on the entrance. Rude, uncivilized men waiters with angry faces. The only smile I saw was from the cashier. There are many little or big restaurants to go with tasty fresh food and friendly, polite people who are happy to serve you and wishes you "gule gule" when you leave and don't shout.. I am wondering who is the owner of this place and why the authorities dont...
