disgusting visit. museum staff no one speaks english. one person understands only a few words. I had a problem with a museum card for a child . nobody helped. the child had an ikamet uploaded to the museum card application. but the cashier said no, I'll still sell you tickets at full price. no one is trying to help everyone is just ripping off more money from you. no one even listens because no one knows language. museum staff who working with including foreign people, should speak at least English. must have information about the museum card application- museum tickets. Moreover, all , including telephone support, is in Turkish language. I spent an hour so that my child could go to the museum. nobody helped me. In the end, they just ripped off the maximum price from me. as if the child had no kimlik and payed museum card. I do not recommend to anyone. . no audio guide either. There is also no guide. Museum to see without a guide is not interesting. It is just a simple museum with object near the walls. No good description. No like a modern interesting museum with light and color a intersection description.Perge or even Olympos without sculptures is more interesting. and such an attitude of employees completely kills any impression of the museum.

What very well could be the best museum in all of Turkey for ancient Roman statues 🗿🗽🇹🇷 I'm not exaggerating when I say there are literally hundreds of beautiful handcrafted marble statues in this museum. Maybe not thousands but in the high hundreds for sure hahaha Some really great tombs in here as well as artifacts from all the surrounding area in the Antalyian region. It was crazy cool getting to see the bits and pieces from no less than 20 or 30 different ruins sites that I had been to previously all stashed away in one beautiful well done museum 👏👏👏 Me personally I have to say I was really astonished by the detail in all of these sculptures and artwork pieces. I don't know how much time it would have taken to quarry out the marble, transport it to the artist's workshop, sculpt out said statue and have a finished piece but it has to be in the tens of thousands of hours of pure manual labor. Incredible! If you're even remotely interested in the ancient history of turkey or this area do yourself a massive favor and spend a few hours walking around this bad girl ✊🤩

(See warning below) Nice collection of artifacts from the Stone Age to the Roman era. The number of statues on display is impressive, and many are well preserved. Beware of the tricky ticket options, though. Based on our experience with other Turkish museums, we were aware that admission for foreigners is much more expensive (€15). However, the ticket office staff automatically added audio guides (350 lira, about USD 10+) to all our tickets without asking. We only discovered this by reviewing our receipts. Although we did not feel good about being charged without being asked, we didn’t complain much as we thought having audio guides would be beneficial. However, after checking the posted price list more carefully, we found that the €15 foreigner ticket actually includes a phone-based audio guide. We only needed to download an app and scan the QR code on our tickets to use the audio guide directly from our phones instead of using the iPod-like device they gave us. Obviously, the museum staff intentionally double-charged us for audio guides.

Ok, maybe this could have been 4 stars, but it wasn't anything fantastic or above average. Only 30TL to enter, so by most foreign visitors' standards that's not expensive. Most of the museum had English translations for the various plaques, so that was good. Parking is available on site. Has a selection of pottery from various eras in history / pre-history. The halls containing the many Roman-era statues (2nd/3rd century) was the most impressive part. Crazy to see that they are still unearthing things from the ancient town of Perge about 30 minutes drive away. Some displays were much less impressive, even accidentally funny. An interesting display of the history of Antalya, from cave-man to modern day, looked more like a primary school project than a professional, accurate museum exhibit (see the photo of the clock face used in the castle tower). Reception proudly displays a "Certificate of Commendation" or something like that... from 1988. Antalya Museum is not on top form these days. Worth a visit for an hour or two
