Some days, you just feel like channeling your inner Tiger Woods, and this was one of those days! A friend recommended Topgolf Dubai, and since it was close to my place, I decided to give it a shot. Here’s my take on the experience:

Location and Accessibility: Easy to find – Right by the Emirates Golf Club with plenty of parking. Well-connected – Super convenient via taxi or metro (Used metro to reach and I walked from the metro station!). Downside: Traffic can clog up near the entrance on busy weekends.

Facilities & Cleanliness: Modern vibe – Spacious bays with comfy seating and a sleek design. Clean – Restrooms and common areas were spotless. Downside: Some golf clubs had worn grips, and a few balls were scuffed.

Game Experience & Tech: Super fun – Top Shot was a blast for both newbies and seasoned players. Accurate tracking – Sensors nailed even my lightest swings. Downside: One bay had a laggy screen, but the staff sorted it out quickly.

Service & Staff: Friendly crew – They were energetic, helped us with the rules, and tweaked bay settings. Downside: Drink refills took over 15 minutes during peak hours.

Food & Beverage: Tasty options – Garlic bread, switch burgers, falafel wraps, and fries were surprisingly good. Great drinks – The Virgin Mojito mocktail was a refreshing hit. Downside: Portions felt small for the price (AED 70 for a tiny burger? Ouch!).

Pricing & Value: Good for groups – Splitting the bay rental (AED 120–200/hr) among six of us felt fair.

Ambiance & Crowds: Lively vibe – Evening DJ sets really amped up the energy. Downside: Gets noisy during peak times, making it tough to chat in big groups.

Areas for Improvement More shade – The bays were hot, even at 10 PM. Fans or cooling would be a game-changer in Dubai’s scorching summers. Faster service – More staff on weekends would help with drink wait times. Better maintenance – Swap out worn equipment regularly for a smoother experience.

I am writing to share my recent experience with a booking I made through the Viya app, which unfortunately led to confusion, additional unexpected charges, and overall disappointment.

I booked a one-hour game session through the app for myself, my partner, and his daughter for 8:00 PM. Due to heavy traffic, we were slightly delayed. At 8:08 PM, I received a call from one of your team members about the booking. I informed them that we would arrive within 5–10 minutes, and was told that this was fine.

However, when my partner and his daughter arrived ahead of me, they were informed that there was no booking on file — even after presenting screenshots of the confirmed reservation. My partner then called me for clarification, and I explained that I had just spoken with a team member minutes before. They were then told to wait 5–10 minutes for an available bay to be found.

What I found incredibly disappointing was when we received the bill: I was charged AED 210 just for the initial reservation — which we weren’t even able to use as intended — and then charged an additional AED 400 for two hours of play. That’s a total of AED 610 for a very confusing and frustrating experience.

What’s more frustrating is that when I questioned the AED 210 charge, I was simply told, “That’s the rule — check the app.” However, the app does not make it clear that this amount is only for reserving a bay, not for actual playtime. This lack of clarity is misleading, especially for first-time users who would reasonably assume they are paying for game time.

To add to the disappointment, the food did not meet expectations either.

I hope you take this feedback seriously. I believe this situation warrants a refund or, at the very least, a credit toward a future visit. More importantly, I strongly urge you to improve the clarity of information presented in the app to avoid misleading other customers...
