Canary Club — Restaurant in Dubai

Pretty disappointing experience which is a shame cause the place is such a vibe! Our biggest issue was service and how the table timing was handled.

We arrived at 7:30pm under a reservation for ladies night(only 2 of us). We were taken to table where we waited at least 15-20 mins for someone to speak to us. I flagged the delay to the waiter who was very polite and assured me all was going to be ok but by the time we ordered it was probably already 8pm or so.

Our starters arrived but the mains took a really long time. We had just received the mains when the waiter approached at around 8:45pm to say that we only had the table until 9:30pm - there was no how is your food? How is everything? We immediately felt rushed. Nobody at any point before informed us of the time limit at the table. We didn’t contest as we still had time (or so we thought). Shortly after this, in between talking and eating we were interrupted many times by different service staff about clearing our plates that CLEARLY still had food and that we were very obviously still eating (it was barely 9pm at this stage). We started to feel very uncomfortable. Understandably the restaurant was buzzy but if you looked around there were multiple empty tables around so it really was hard to understand why the urgent stress and rush.

At 9:10-9:15pm without any notice and as we’re still eating our mains they bring out our desserts without saying anything and leave it to melt at our table. I was genuinely shocked and at this stage my appetite was completely ruined - not only did this lack common sense but also basic principles of hospitality.

At this stage, I expressed my frustration to the waiter as first there was a delay to serve us but then we are pretty much being kicked out of our seats to which I calmly explained to him that we would not take long to finish but equally we needed time to finish the food and that he did not inform us that he was going to bring the dessert. He took our desserts back and from that point started to communicate more with us but unfortunately there was no way back from that. Our desserts then took a really long time to come out again which seemed due to a communication issue between service teams prolonging our time even more. We ended up not finishing the food, appetite ruined and leaving the table at around 10pm. As I left I counted at least 5 empty tables in the restaurant, once again, not understanding the major rush in clearing our table.

To top it all off, at the end when they present you the bill they don’t ask if you want to leave tip they ask you how much tip you want to leave and you only get options starting from 10% or no tip. I found this very awkward considering the amount of mistakes and ill judgment for our service so painfully we opted for no tip as we genuinely were unhappy and were not willing to reward this sort of treatment. Things could have been handled so differently.

It’s very sad as I’m sure it was not entirely the service teams fault and they often take the biggest hit in these situations so overall I feel the restaurant could focus less on covering many tables per night and more on providing worthwhile experiences/training staff to handle these situations better.

Moral of the story, it’s a nice place, food is average/decent but on a day like this it is definitely not a place to come enjoy a meal where you can eat and talk. You’re better off just coming to the bar or for a...

We came here for a bottomless brunch. This is my first bottomless brunch experience in Dubai we opted for the silver fizz bands.

Basically got unlimited food and drinks between the three hour period that you are there

The food is absolutely incredible with the starters. They bring out one of everything you will pick a main dish each and then then for the desserts they bring out one of everything.

Starters were absolutely incredible. The sushi was very very fresh and the ceviche was out of this world.

The dishes were really tasty. I’m very very big portions unfortunately they did not have a little takeaway box so I could take home the leftover steak for my dog.

The desserts were also incredible. I’m not normally a sweet person but the chocolate fudge cake was really incredible as was the churros and ice cream. All things I would normally pick up was lovely to have taste of everything.

Lots of entertainers come dressed up in fancy dress up to dance it was a great atmosphere

The band also work at the bar so you can order some drinks once you finished eating and place turns into a full on dance club with everybody dancing at the bar

Great atmosphere and definitely would return here .

The cocktails were tasty. Our serve Peter was absolutely fabulous and really friendly too.

My only criticism of this place is that people chain smoking in the non-smoking area giving me an incredibly sore throat other than that was fabulous. I would probably return not in the summer where we can actually sit outside as if people are smoking it does...
