Mr Dun Barber Shop — Attraction in Aberdeen City

The local barber I'd been going to for several years suddenly closed down. It was a cheap, no thrills place which only did walk ins but did a job. I was left needed a new place to go. After a wee bit of time looking at a few options I decided to go to Mr Dun.

I like the fact that you can go on the website and quickly book an appointment. You'll receive a text and email confirming your booking and you can add it to your online calendar.

I got a friendly greeting on arrival, the receptionist offered to take my jacket and offered me a drink. I was seen to at the time my appointment had been booked for and there was no real waiting about.

My barber was great, he took his time and didn't rush it. We spent most of the time chatting about what computer games we'd been playing and it was better then the usual work/holiday chat you get at other places.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but after what happened at Mr. Dunn’s, I feel morally obligated to warn the public. I asked for a simple clean-up—not a transformation into a public hazard. The so-called barber clearly had no clue what he was doing. Uneven sides, jagged neckline, random patch missing in the back like someone took a bite out of it. Honestly, someone with a National 3 in Cookery could’ve done a better job—with a bread knife, blindfolded. The whole cut felt rushed, careless, and borderline insulting. I took my son for a cut with Mark today and it was honestly the best haircut he’s had. Immediately on meeting him, Mark was really friendly, focused on him, speaking to him asking what he would like, if he had a picture of what he wants. I sat outside during the cut but could hear him speaking away and asking about his summer, computer games etc. Mark knew how to sort his crown (it’s been messed up due to another barber), and suggested how to keep it so it grows better for next time.
