All Saints Church, Ripley — Attraction in Amber Valley

Nice Good Friday service, but, although the beginning of John 3:16 was repeated several times in the reflection, there was a reluctance/failure to complete the verse i.e, the bit where it says “that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Jesus suffered and died for our sins if we accept Him, and believe in Him, we shall be saved. If we don’t we will perish. Simple. That’s what the Bible says, and it shouldn’t be brushed under the carpet! If you’re speaking to someone in a burning building, you don’t just tell them that there’s a staircase available, you tell them there’s a fire and they need to get out now! Lack of firm, bold leadership, and a watering down of the faith is why many churches are nearly empty! The vicar and his female colleague stood at the doorway at the end. I’m used to a handshake, words etc when leaving any church. There was nothing........apart from an awkward smile and a nod.
