Stayed here for 4 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. Great base for visiting surrounding landmarks. Breakfast is provided at the pub/restaurant next door and there's a McDonald's across the road. Nice woodland walk adjacent to the hotel which was nice. The receptionist Annie was very helpful and friendly. The room was a good size with a really comfy bed and blackout curtains. There were plenty of plugs and even a bottle opener screwed onto the side of the wardrobe next to the kettle. There was air conditioning which was great as it was really warm when we were there. Our room had a full size bath with overhead shower. The water was always hot and the bath fills quickly. The shower is quite powerful, not slow and weak like other places we've stayed. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been if there were Electric car charging points. As it was we had to find places to charge the car while we were out and about. Also, even though the TV's have improved they still only provide freeview. Adding few popular Apps like BBC iplayer, Netflix etc would be great. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would...
Read moreI have stayed many times with my family & have recently traveled solo. The hotel is always clean & the staff are always friendly.
We use the hotel to stay at when we come to visit family so use it multiple times in the year.
About two years ago my son left his soft toy after our stay, I rang the hotel and they kindly kept "bob" safe for us, displaying him in reception with a sweet messaged saying he was on holiday and waiting for my son to pick him back up. When we picked up Bob my son was even more excited because he was holding a chocolate bar & all the staff made a fuss over him. I felt that all the staff went above and beyond to make all our stays special.
I travelled solo for the first time & stayed here, I was nervous being a female solo travel but was reassured by Julie and she said that she had made sure that I was allocated a room which was in a safe place & I felt reassured they were looking after me.
It's really nice seeing familiar faces each time we stay. We have got to know Teresa on reception who always makes us...
Read moreStayed for 2 nights .The hotel is an ideal base for visiting the peak district. We have stayed at several Premier inns before and have always been satisfied with the quality of the accommodation. This was no exception. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful and checked us in quickly. The room was on the second floor. It was clean and modern but my only criticism was that the room had a sloping cealing because it was built in the roof space. Also the window was very small and only just at head hight. This room would not have been suitable for a tall person. To be fair, the lady on reception did offer to move us to anothet room when i mentioned the strange layout but we were there for a good nights sleep not the view so we stayed where we were. I would not stay on the second floor again though. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much. The restaurant next door was excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and an evening meal which were really good...
