Rokaa Turkish Kitchen — Restaurant in Amber Valley

Went back with the missus for our anniversary to try out the Turkish menu with high hopes given how amazing this place was before the makeover.

In short, we were absolulty blown away. We both opted for the mixed kebab, reasonably priced at £18 for a very large serving and a hefty side salad to boot. Believe it or not this was actually one of the most expensive items on the menu!

I don't say this lightly, this is genuinely the best tasting food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Everything on the plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the lamb and even the potato salad were out of this world... but the chicken in particular was nothing short of astounding, bursting with flavour and unbelievably juicy. I've eaten a hell of a lot of chicken prepared in countless ways throughout my lifetime, but I honestly had no idea it was even possible to cook it to this standard.

As if that wasn't enough, then there's the hospitality. Every single member of staff made us feel welcome from the second we walked through the door. Greeted with a big smile and shown to our table almost immediately on entry. The staff were even more respectful and friendly than I remember, radiating a level of professionalism far beyond that which the price of the menu would lead you to expect.

The manager proudly visited tables to gather reactions from the busy restaurant and it was clear from his beaming smile and jolly demeanor that every single customer was extremely satisfied. Before we left he even insisted we taste a sample of some authentic Turkish Delight, which as with everything else, was absolutely phenomenal.

Its safe to say our favourite burger place has evolved into our all time favourite place to eat. We will be back very soon, that is for certain.

If you love food, this is the one.

Edit: went back again tonight for a meal with the missus. Can't really add much about the mains as the food was absolutely flawless once again. Service was spot on as always. We tried a the milk cake for desert this and oh wow is this stuff good! 10/10 yet again!

Our burgers were on the plate within 10 minutes of ordering, the burgers were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Not to mention the seasoned fries were to die for.

We will definitely be returning with more of the family. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Edit: Went back last week with my dad and the food was absolutely outstanding again. Same friendly service, same high quality food, same super fast turnaround from ordering to eating. The fries were actually better this time too! Just delicious! We genuinely feel lucky to have a burger joint of such high standards so close to us. We will absolutely be coming back regularly from now on.

The Rokaa restaurant offers a good selection of traditional Turkish meals that range from fish , to meat & various salad options , plus the classic Turkish style breads that are all prepared & cooked fresh to order upon your visit . The restaurant has an open view galley kitchen & you can see the Rokaa chef team working away making a real Turkish delight for your dining experience here @ the Rokaa . The food served is well presented & is a feast for the eyes as well as for the table ! & Is served by polite & friendly staff . The portion sizes here are very generous in my opinion & quite filling , so it's a good place to dine for those with a healthy appetite . The restaurant is also fully licensed to serve alcoholic drinks , so you can have a Turkish beer , raki or wine to accompany your meal , or perhaps even have a Turkish tea ! Which upon my visit was very light & floral , with a slight rose aftertaste & was most pleasant . The prices here are mid range & considering portion sizes & the quality of service , plus it's upmarket approach to the decor & interior design it offers an excellent value for money drinks & dining experience for the customer . The vibe of the Rokaa is cosy & intimate & has some vintage inspired low glow lighting features & some Turkish & middle eastern kilim inspired decor plus a wine inspired art feature that may inspire your drink selection for the table . Lastly but not least upon my visit the restaurant was cleaned to an exceptionally high standard in all areas & as before mentioned the cooking station is open plan so you can see they have a very high standard for hygiene . A must place visit for those who enjoy Turkish cuisine & good levels of service in pleasant surroundings can...

Wow! Very busy, buzzing restaurant & no wonder as they offer great portions & value for money. Very fresh, smells & tastes amazing...you can tell it's all prepared & made with care, beautifully presented too. Complimentary bowl of olives when you arrive & rose Turkish delight with the bill (perfect with a Turkish coffee!)😊 The food can't compare at all with other places as it wins hands down! 🤗 Staff are great, warm, smiley, friendly & welcome, despite being busy nothing is a problem & they are attentive even in a full restaurant. Restaurant decor is modern, clean & a relaxing place to dine with some nice authentic details well thought out in it's design & atmosphere. Best book your table well in advance if you need a particular time of evening at the weekend, I've tried for last 2 Saturday nights & managed to squeeze in at 5.30pm only but weren't made to feel rushed at all. Shall definitely be eating here again. Thank you Roka guys...
