To start off with, I am only rating this place low, due to the way my issue was dealt with.
I thought that the service and taste of the food was great. Plenty to choose from that I had not tried before. But I went for a lamb dish with spinach and potato. The food came out as a massive portion, good enough to share. Half way through my meal, I found something glimmering at me. Turns out it was a small piece of soft plastic. Once I found that, I decide I couldn't eat no more, but I was on the verge of being full, so it wasn't all bad.
I informed one of the waiters, could possibly of been the owner/manager, not entirely sure. But he offered me a complimentary coffee for an Apology. I was preparing myself to insist he charged me for the main dish, as I was more than likely not going to eat much more. But he didn't know I was done, and didn't offer the main dish for free. I'm not saying that he should of, there is no rule to say that's what must happen. But he must of realised that it ruined the meal for me.
I hope they are more careful with any packaging. They don't serve alcohol also. But you can bring your own.
So after no offer of discount and no meaningful apology, safe to say I won't be venturing back...
Read moreI’m amazed as to how this restaurant has been given so many previous 5 star reviews. I can only conclude that something significant has changed in the business very recently. We ordered a takeaway (NYE 2020 & Tier4 lockdown). In summary, massively disappointed with the food. My Tikka Balti was nothing like any Tikka Balti I have ever tasted - and not in a good way! Tasted like a Tomato Dolmio Sauce with massive chunks of Tomato thrown in for good measure. I appreciate that a Balti actually originated in Birmingham and this restaurant claims to be Bangladeshi food, but if you are going to advertise a speciality dish such as a Balti, its not unreasonable to expect it to actually represent a true Balti. I can only liken this to ordering fish & chips and getting steak pie instead. And who puts an over powering amount of Garlic in a Peshwari Naan? True Peshwari Naan has NO Garlic. In summary, awful food. Never again. The Aldi bought Indian dishes are more...
Read moreWent as a table of 6, got poppadoms quickly but our main course we waited over 45 minutes for. The restaurant was full and only 2 people had food, very busy handing out takeaway orders. Table of 3 next to us asked when their food would be arriving so I good opportunity to do the same, the young waiter told the senior person, but no apologies or an eta. The young waiter just came back and said "I've told them". Food arrived and it was beautiful. Bill came to £199 for 6 so was a decent price for 3 rice, 3 naan, 6 dishes and Daves chips. Was a shame on service as we had a friend from Australia visiting and wanted her to experience a...
