Kathmandu Gurkha Ripley — Restaurant in Amber Valley

Awesome food. Seems like a good place to start. We only went in here because the restaurant we had intended to go to was full but I am glad we did. The staff were friendly and the food was truly excellent with more flavours flooding out of the food. Gripes, yes - charging extra for the little pots of bits that go with poppadoms is a bit out of order.

Hoping someone is listening, don't like paying extra for the pots of bits that are complementary everywhere else - are you listening? I'm asking because I am in the area again in couple of weeks and my mate has suggested we go there again......

Do we didn't go again but did go 1/10/21, food great, friendly but still charging the extras and it is too expensive, makes a surprise disappointment at the end. Food still great but presentation had suffered. Worth a visit and if you want to sit down to eat in Ripley there is a high chance...

We went here last night for a birthday party and I was quite disgusted. We ordered a honey chilli chicken and when he brought it out he said it was lamb, when we told him this was an incorrect order we met with rude customer service and was actually shouted for them getting our order wrong. In addition we was just thrown our plates down and told us if it was wrong just swap the plates around not even thinking about intolerances. The third thing of the night which was disappointing was one of our party’s rice came out very delayed compared to the rest of there meal which ruined it because by the time they got the rice there...

We occasionally dine in at other restaurants for a curry when we're away with friends & family.

None of them tick all the boxes like Kathmandu Gurkha does.

Food tastes amazing, good portion sizes, very reasonable prices, great polite service & relaxing atmosphere. I've never had a bad meal here and have been dozens of times!

We've even had a few takeaways from here and although you don't get the dine in experience - the food is still just as great, arrives on time, good sized portions and even a few extras thrown in.

I want to give a massive thanks to all the staff here for making this our favourite...
