A pleasant garden to visit when in Belper. The gardens are dedicated to those Belper folk who made the ultimate sacrifice during war for their country. There's a war time bunker underneath the lawns, but due to Eleven Saphti it is rarely open to the public. The flower beds are well maintained by Belper Town Council and usually have some kind of display. The pictures I've attached are from the Belper Well Dressing event (2022) where town folk construct blessings artwork on beds of clay using natural materials to form the patterns.

Lovely, relaxing, peaceful memorial gardens to just contemplate in a quiet moment to remember those we have lost in conflict, have a bite to eat/picnic or just sit and fall asleep in the sun. Wonderful flower arrangements at different times of the year and well maintained

Beautiful, relaxing, clean with benches near the memorial, and bins so you can leave the place tidy or take your rubbish away. Named are the soldiers who lost their lives from belper in ww2. An array of flowers and flower beds. A must visit if in belper

What a place this is! We arrived in the town of belper and parked up in the free coppice car park. We then made our way trying to find the elusive memorial gardens! We took a couple of wrong turns and ended up down a big hill in some grannies back garden. We went back on our tracks, somehow found a random footpath, and like abracadabra, bobs ya uncle, aunts ya fanny we were in the beautiful memorial gardens! Here we setup shop and were part of the audience watching the Aspire Wrestling alliance putting on a variety of shows for all the hundreds of local belperites in attendance. I must say pal, the weather was a little weird today, we experienced everything from rain 🌧 cloud ☁️ to beaming hot sunshine 🌞 3 portaloos for anyone needing to spend a penny, a popup bar and plenty of live singers were all in action here today. The madhatters would of been a proud bunch today, the event was a massive success albeit being a little wet early doors 🚪 the bread woman on king street sold all her loaves.........she best get baking more for next year! Till then...

I have lived in Belper for 40ish years and only just found the benefit of Belper Memorial Gardens (I know, sad). Over these lockdown periods, my wife and I have bought a takeaway coffee and sat in the park and enjoyed an hour chatting and taking in the beautiful area . The Gardens are kept in pristine condition, thanks, I am sure to the park gardeners. If you haven't spent half an hour in the Belper Memorial Gardens, give it a go, be careful though,...
