Excellent recreational space for all ages, we regularly use it for the end of our bike rides to the local canals. There is a purpose built play area in multiple areas of the park, along with a skate park, basketball court, fitness area, football and cricket areas and running / walking pathways. Care has been taken in the design and construction of the park and the public definitely uses it well. There are viewpoints with maps of the city skyline which also doubles up as an excellent toboggan slope when the snow hits. There also sits an opportune ice cream can for most of the year in the main play area car park, whose prices have steadily increased, cannot fault their ice cream quality, just be wary if you are taking a few children on a hot day and you get tempted to a whippy ice cream in a waffle cone and realise that card payments are accepted by the van!!!
How could we make the area better? Upkeep is always the major facet of any public grounds which does require a certain budget and timely action. Whilst the park is kept free from litter majority of the time, some swing sets have not been maintained. Read moreI've been visiting this park for a few years now and it has had some investment over the years which has greatly improved the park. There are 2 playgrounds for the kids suitable for all ages and a skate park. Theres also 2 outdoor gyms with a good variety of equipment. By the entrance on the Coventry rd is a map of the park showing all the different routes you can take and the distances you will walk which I think is a great idea. Theres plenty of space to kick a ball and a football/basketball pitch too. Theres an ongoing issue with litter but that's due to its users as theres adequate bins but sadly you can't make...
