I drove 20 miles each way to play their StepmaniaX cabinet. When I arrived, the machine was lagging like crazy, the machine then crashed and took my credit. You can see the video on YouTube RE: "StepmaniaX DX Deluxe - Dance Machine Cabinet Review"
I reached out to the manager there who gave me a credit back... that is when I found out the player 2 pad didnt even work!! It just randomly plugs in and out when it wants to.
THEN I found out that the machine is ONLY 1 SONG FOR £1!!! WHAT A RIP OFF!!
3rd time lucky: they just turned the machine off on me
I then reached out to the company about this. They told me: "We have found in some of these machines including Leicester that the plug to power the pad comes unplugged, like any machine this gets called out and we get it resolved."
But when I contacted my friend, he told me the pad has NEVER worked the machine used to be 3 songs for £1. So they KNEW the pad didnt work and THEN STILL raised the price. This is wrong on so many levels. Despite that, epoxy is a quid. It wont come out then.
They are blaming the connector, but if it was the pad connector it would be ON or OFF and it would have been working at least once which it hasn't
The manager then told me 3 songs for £1 was a mistake by the person who setup the machine: "These will have been errors on our part and we will get these changed once we find out which ones .".... and that Namco told them to set it up this way, however, other business chains in the UK are not 1 SONG FOR £1 despite getting their machines from Namco also.
If they just admit they only care about the money, fair enough, but it's like they are lying to try and pretend they are not greedy and deceitful. THAT is what I don't like.
Historically, they said this about other dance games: "Hollywood Bowl haven’t had a Dance Stage for quite a few years due to them failing and parts hard to come by, revenue was also declining and new machines were added and these removed, that was all this was aimed at."
However, Both Euromixes worked fine but the maintenance guy wouldn't maintain the panels, so credits declined. Then they were removed. Same with the Pump it up pro machine
The dancing stage supernova, the CRT was collapsing and the blue failed. It uses a 29" CRT which can be found on Wangan and many other arcades. There are a decent amount on eBay right now in fact. DDR parts can be found on arcadespareparts and ddrpad, both websites are stocked right now and before also. ASP has been going since 1999. Despite that, you can convert the CRT to an LCD, which are sold LITERALLY ANYWHERE.
It's just a bunch of excuses after excuses in order to milk casuals and price gouge people with a genuine interest...
Read moreSorry, bit of a Karen post..... I get they have just reopened and are dealing with COVID restrictions but we prebooked the lane and food online so they should be prepared. Not the case, we waited 20 mins for our lane, not because of the previous players but because they had to clean the booths between users which we were warned about at the desk (no problem, happy they'rekeeping us all safe). When we get to the lane nobody was in the booth, so we waited for somebody to clean the booth. Nobody came to clean and the previous players empty drinks where still on the table. We waited 15mins and then I went to the desk. Manager apologised and said the lane had been cleared for use which means it was manually cleared by the cleaner (who never turned up). They quickly cleaned the booth which took 5 mins (not a problem COVID makes everything more difficult I get it. (BTW the cleaner gets a 5 star rating - great work).
So, we're already 20 mims behind our 1h 30m slot so I gave the attendant our food order as soon as we got permission to enter our lane. We are a family of 4 so we ordered 4 burgers, 2 adult bgrs and 2 children. The attendant advised cheese wasn't included and it was an additional £3 charge for cheese. Because we prepaid on-line, I said I'll leave the cheese off for all burgers.
Food arrived 30 mins later. Adult burgers had nothing in them, no sauce no salad, I mean just the beef and bread and the kids burgers were vegetarian burgers. My Karen senses are tingling at this point, so I called the attendant. After another 15 mins the attendant arrived. I told him they gave the children the wrong burgers and our burgers had nothing in them and I also asked if this was normal considering they made a mistake with the kids food. Attendant apologised and said they would get new burgers for the kids; however, the adult burgers were normal and standard now due to covid. He said they are only selling plain burgers now due to covid contamination fears. My wife booked the lane and food online and confirmed it didn't mention this online nor was we told when they said cheese wasn't included. Don't get me wrong I was prepared to be disappointed by the lack of cheese, I love cheese but to not even have mayo or tomato sauce inside the burger, come on.... For a £25 meal I don't expect a dry lonely beef burger inside a cold dry bun.
What baked my noodle later on was the £3 charge for cheese. Does the convid contamination fears not exist if we pay an additional £3 for cheese. WOW, put down your masks folks, stick £3 to your face and you and everything you touch will become invulnerable to everything covid related....
