A beautiful, well kept, picturesque place to visit. Not a huge space though and can get really busy sometimes. We park at Severn Valley, walk over the bridge and up the hill, which is OK during lockdown as the car park is empty, but when the trains are running you'll struggle, plus it's fairly expensive to park there if you're only planning to stay an jour or 2.
Great views for miles around and only a 5 minute walk into high town past some fantastic, historic properties. On 'fairer' days you can get a coffee, ice cream and/or cake from a little vintage caravan that sets up - be prepared to wait though as service is fairly slow and the queue is always long.

You cannot see much of the castle just ruins scattered around among the amazing gardens. These are beautifully maintained and you can walk along the pathways and see all the different flowers and plants. Doggies do need to be kept on the lead at all times. Please be mindful that there's not really parking, apart from the street parking in front which allows only 30min of free parking for non residents. I'd recommend you park at the bottom of the fourth and walk up the stairs...
