Fantastic find in the heart of Bridgnorth high town. I had googled "great food, dog friendly" and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were super friendly and very friendly to our dog, bringing her a bowl of water (even though they were very busy). My Dad and I had the steak and ale pie (which was delicious) and my Mom and the prawns (starter) which she loved. My Partner had the burger which he enjoyed too. Its table service in the pub, which was great as we were able to order from the comfort of our table. Its definitely a good idea to book as this is a very popular place. The only tricky thing is to find parking. There's two good size public car parks within about 10 mins walk but as we visited on market day both car parks were very full.

Really enjoyed this place it was my first to the Shakespeare in Bridgnorth despite this being my 3rd vist to Bridgnorth. The beers were excellent and the staff were attentive for sure. The son of the landlord's is BRILLIANT. Very knowledgeable on his ales and very welcoming. He is great at getting amongst the guests. My sister had an ice cream I had the cheese ham baguette which was nice with fries for sure. It has a nice outside seating area as well as a nice old feeling inside areas. The covid 19 precautions were well observed too. Its a family run pub and they care about their customers Well worth a visit for sure. So I returned in August 2020 and they really are excellent. This is how pubs should be ....

I've been visiting Bridgnoth to see a friend. I've asked him after our meeting to recommend me a restaurant and he mentioned to pass by to this location as they are my style. A nice lady welcomed us, put up on a table - as mostly they ware reserved and we ordered some food. Inside was well decorated, warm, friendly staff and the atmosphere was alright to my tastes, and especially it wasn't a very loud location. Food came quickly, it was freshly made and well organised on the plate. Thank you having us guys 💫 Sorry for being on my Roller Skates 😊

-Pretty mediocre, we went for Sunday lunch, only encountered one rude staff member but the rest seemed very nice, it seems the rona has given license for some folk to forget there manners, oh well on with the review.

-All the tables were so sticky, I think they just wipe down with water, try using something a little stronger to clean this place up. I tried a few different chairs they were all wobbly and ready to collapse, Im not that heavy.

The meal was fairly inexpensive, I was told by a member of the team that the cauliflower cheese was "to die for" sadly it was burnt to the point of being buggered, we couldn't eat it. The vegetables were old and well overcooked and the meat was laden with fat.

-Virus rules not really followed by all staff I did spot one of the team picking up a customers dog before going back behind the bar to serve. Anyway like I said the rest of the team were fantastic this place just needs a clean and a bit of care and it's lovely oh and don't...

OH my goodness, what a delight, Marie who welcomed us at the door and ensured our table met our needs is the epitome of graciousness and professionalism. I cannot put into words our feelings of joy and belonging and this is before we sampled either drink or food. However these reviews are meant to enlighten the traveller to pick establishments that offer great food and superior service (when deserved) and I can confirm that the Shakespeare Inn delivers both great food and excellent service in abundance. The Joules Ales where some of the best ales I have tasted in a long time and the drink Staropramen Premium was also an exceptional lager. Well done for having such a variety of great beers. The food, I had seared chicken, my daughter the beef and ale pie and my wife the stroganoff, ALL these meals were cooked to perfection, tasted delicious and were full plates of filling and tasty food. Thank you Marie, your excellent staff and...

Decided to go into this venue after not going there since before lockdown. Was very impressed by the vibe of the place and there were a lot of people in there ordering food. Managed to find a table despite it being very busy (always a good sign when you see others ordering food etc) Decided to take the plunge and ordered the steak and ale pie with mash and gravy. It came within a short while and was served with fresh vegetables. It has to be one of the best pies I have ever tasted. The pastry was every bit as delicious as the pie itself. Everything else on the plate was very tasty too,as was the gravy. The service was excellent and very professional. All the staff were very polite and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue for a drink and a meal when you are in Bridgnorth. Can't wait for a...
