As a tourist it's a good experience, we wanted to see what it was like and it was good to do. At the top there was a really good view, although you could easily have walked to the top. The ride was over quite quickly but because of this it meant you didn't have to wait very long and it seemed to run continuously. The ride itself was quite exciting. If I had not done it before I would do it for the first time again for the experience, but I think once was enough, if I was going back to visit Bridgnorth again in future I'd probably just take the steps. Also one of the carriages was damaged so had a reduced capacity and the last thing the man said at the top before sending us down was something to the effect of I hope the door opens when you get to the bottom so that you can get out, which isn't the most thrilling. But hey, at least the tickets are return so you can go both ways.

Opening back on the 7th of July 1892,the Bridgnorth cliff railway was also called a funicular railway as it was powered by water used as a counterbalance with cables pulling it up and down the cliff face...It is an amazing bit of Victorian engineering, that is now powered by electricity taking its passengers from the low town to the high town, visor versa..It only takes about a minute to get from top to bottom, saving a long steep walk either up steps or the narrow road way..It cost £2 per person return which is great value for your money and a lovely experience with fantastic views to be seen from the top looking out over the low town below...👍

Disgraceful discriminating set up, my elderly friend with Parkinson’s Disease & I were tired after our bike ride & went to take the railway up in order to take the Severn Valley Railway 🚂 to Kidderminster. However even though the carriage wasn’t full, no bikes allowed as they take up space. I said so what if it was a pram or a wheelchair? Response was, “It’s on a notice” I pointed out our bike fold, same discriminatory response. We left. If the bikes were in bags, they’d have been luggage. Disgraceful attitude. And I bet you if the train was empty, they’d have taken our money!

The Railway itself is good but both members of staff running the railway on Friday 27th February 2015 were extremely rude and ignorant. A group of us were visiting Bridgnorth for the day and whilst we enjoyed our visit, the staff running the railway were very rude, brusk and snappy with us. When purchasing our tickets, we were snapped at for no reason and there was no hint of a 'please' or 'thank you' from the member of staff. At the other end of the railway, another member of staff demanded to see our tickets and my father produced all but one of the tickets. Before any of us could realise we were one ticket short - it was still in his pocket - the member of staff was snapping at us for not having all tickets - as though we were deliberately trying to get away with paying £1.20?! My father then produced the final ticket from his pocked and the staff member took it with no smile or 'thank you' or 'have a nice day'. Basically zero customer service and upsetting for me to witness a group of people who were happy and enjoying their day out being treated so disgustingly. The staff were not only unfriendly but lacked any...
