Free car park outside, on road side 5. Should be available for public after 7 AM till 5 PM 6. Calm resident area opposite, houses available for rent 7. Schools near by. 8. Benches across the parks 9. Status telling history around 10. Grave yard of common wealth soldiers around 0.5 mi from park. 11. Parks connected with partially wheel chair access(no wheelchair provided) 12. Shelter during rain available 13. Free entry Cons: 1. Nothing noticable

A beautiful Victorian Park, with a promenade, some Greek statues of Hercules and Venus. There's an interesting sundial with rather ominous Latin "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for on thy eyelids is the shadow of death." Aside from the shadow of death, there are charming bridges over shallow duck ponds. I'm giving it 4 stars because the toilet is fairly grimey and a contrast to the elegance of the park - it's a shame people don't take better care of them. At least the council has some toilets in the park, I guess! Imagine how amazing it would be to restore the bath house down one end of the park! And the bandstand.

There are a lot of rats in the park. There are always teenagers standing around smoking weed, there is an unpleasant smell throughout the park. Ducks swim in dirty water, the duck pond is never cleaned, the fountain never works. The grass is dirty, there is dog shit on it. The park is very dirty, it's already spring, but autumn leaves from the trees are still lying in the park. The pond is dirty, there's an unpleasant smell, the ducks can't swim in this dirt, the water in the pond and in the fountain is not changed. And there's dog shit everywhere.

My favourite park. However the council needs to do something urgently about the amount of people feeding the ducks and Canadian geese unsuitable foods like bread and chappatis in massive amounts. This is causing malnutrition and then wing deformity "angel wing" leaving birds unable to fly and migrate in the winter or even fly away from trouble which is so sad to see. It wouldn't cost so much to put a food dispenser with grains or pellets people can buy to feed the ducks or at very least posters with more suitable suggestions such as chopped lettuce, grains, chopped grapes etc. Posters suggesting not to feed the ducks as it feed rats are not close to the areas people feed them and nobody bats an eye anyway as they are too special to...

It’s a lovely place, but it’s lost the sparkle it had years ago when it was clean and safe. Unfortunately, due to its proximity in a terrible dirty slum part of town now, it’s just a massive drug dealing sight and you’re taking your life in your hands if you dare go beyond dusk. Full of non desirable young men and the terrible litter and lack of pride in a place has crept in from nearby streets’ visible dirt/rats. A terrible shame. To think there used to be bands in the bandstand and courteous people would gather. It needs picking up and moving to another area to achieve anything like that again. Go to Shibden/Manor Heath, Crow Wood, you’ll be much much safer...
