My favourite park. However the council needs to do something urgently about the amount of people feeding the ducks and Canadian geese unsuitable foods like bread and chappatis in massive amounts. This is causing malnutrition and then wing deformity "angel wing" leaving birds unable to fly and migrate in the winter or even fly away from trouble which is so sad to see. It wouldn't cost so much to put a food dispenser with grains or pellets people can buy to feed the ducks or at very least posters with more suitable suggestions such as chopped lettuce, grains, chopped grapes etc. Posters suggesting not to feed the ducks as it feed rats are not close to the areas people feed them and nobody bats an eye anyway as they are too special to...

Unfortunately, due to its proximity in a terrible dirty slum part of town now, it’s just a massive drug dealing sight and you’re taking your life in your hands if you dare go beyond dusk. Full of non desirable young men and the terrible litter and lack of pride in a place has crept in from nearby streets’ visible dirt/rats. A terrible shame. To think there used to be bands in the bandstand and courteous people would gather. It needs picking up and moving to another area to achieve anything like that again. Go to Shibden/Manor Heath, Crow Wood, you’ll be much much safer...
