I just left Barum Top to get some more money out of an ATM and when on my return i was aggressively assualted and thrown out of a wide open door that they later claimed was a fire door, unbeknownst to me. Then when i tried to re join my mates through the front door, who id been drinking with since 8:30 pm, i was verbally attacked and was refused entry. The short, evidently tired asian bouncer for no reason decided to degrade my clothing and on the spot refused my entry. To which i rang the establishment and described my atire, and their response was ‘’ we have no dress code at weatherspoons. ‘’ I then passed on the managers message about the Pubs dressed code at which his face filled with embarrassment. He then rudley told me i was band from all pubs in halifax, a message he must have sent with his non existent walkie-talkie. A real embarrassment to my local, the whole of weatherspoons and the community of bouncers. I would give you his name but he refused, as any embarrassed person would. There was only two bouncers on at the time, barum top halifax, 11.25pm 26.05.19. On the other hand however manager at percy shaw was very welcoming and apologised on behalf of weatherspoons. Yours sincerely (hope for a justified...

I have just ordered a meal. The chicken had what looked like pink bits, which I believe can mean it's not cooked fully. I complained to a member of staff. He didn't have the dark dressed uniform. So, I assume he was a manager. He was collecting dirty glasses. He was quite an unkempt looking man. I tried to explain that the chicken was cold and had what looked like pink bits in it. He didn't even check it, he just spoke over me and said that is how it comes. It is served that way. I explained I had this meal whenever I ate there and it wasn't cold or pink any other time. He totally ignored what I had explained, did not offer to replace the meal or apologise. I had to walk off, which is rude of me but, I thought why waste my breath, he wasn't listening to me. The customer service was non existant. This is the second time I have spoken to this member of staff and this is the second time I have not felt like a valued customer. He made me feel quite uncomfortable really. I will not eat here again and if anyone else has any issues at barum top, I suggest that you speak to anyone other that the person behind the bar with longish hair who...

Waited over an hour for food when it eventually came was stone cold female staff very abrupt didn't even provide me with a plate I was given a side plate I was so embaraced eating my meal of halloumi fries which were served in an open wire basket with nothing seperating the food and the dirty table I had ordered I side of onion rings which were served on my partners plate along with a beef burger shocking have always rated Whetherspoons highly was most disappointed. I complained to tje waitress who shot me down when I said food was cold and told I was lucky the wait was an hour plus for food we were told of a delay of 25 mins I was then told that it was an hour plus I explained I was going to the theatre her reply was so is everyone else ! I am sorry they had a rush on but it was a theatre night and more staff should have been rostered condiments bottles. were empty tables were filthy no glass collections or food plates collected never again appalled by...

This is a very popular town centre pub with many regular users throughout the day so having to bare this in mind my daughter and I went for breakfast - she's pregnant and the baby needed a 'Spoons' breakfast!! Ha We made our way to the upper eating area, used the app to order our food and were met by wonderful, friendly and polite servers when it arrived. The upper level runs around the outer edge of the building in a semi circular way with a balcony overlooking the lower lounge which I would imagine could get a little noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet meal don't be upset if it's not ☺️ - remember it's essentially a pub 😉 The food tasted wonderful, as most 'Spoons' establishments do (can't really get it wrong), we didn't have to wait too long, and the pregnant one waddled away happy - 👍

One of the better Wetherspoons. Very large and comfortable split level space a with good variety of food and great service and a superb variety of ales lagers and spirits. I should add that the bar staff are excellent. There are the occasional trainees but so what? At least there is an obvious system of training in place. My personal pet hate is walking into a half empty bar with some character absorbed in his or laptop or phone. (Get a lot of that in the South). But here, it's always busy, without getting too messy or threatening around 11 to 1 a.m. (again, lots of that in London). So it's a bit of a godsend for me personally. Good craic, very family friendly and an overall warm, inclusive vibe. Highly recommended IMHO!

Took the train to Halifax for a Bill Bailey gig and decided to do the local Spoons beforehand as the food & drink prices inside the Piece Hall (like all major event venues these days) are outrageously expensive. Ham, egg and chips plus a decent pint of Three Swords was less than a tenner. Job done. As Wetherspoons pubs go. The Barum Top is not one I'd recommend. The staff are friendly, the food and drink is good but the atmosphere gets a grat big fat zero. It served its purpose.
