TUESDAY QUIZ:

I only have more praise to heap upon this quiz in addition to my visit last June, when it was Quiz of The Month.

I jotted in my diary it would be hard to find a better quiz or nicer host. There were 28 teams, in what seems like a ghost town on a wet Tuesday in March which came in like a lion and is going out like Mildred Ratched, so Carl (the quiz host) is really getting it right; this was an oasis of warmth and fun. This is the template for how to run a pub quiz that will sell beer behind the bar, the prime directive of pub quizzes. This is a template on how to run a pub quiz to keep players of all abilities engaged. This is a perfect combination of SpeedQuiz questions with original content. Feck! I could go on. Carl is sooo personable, he really engages, knows everybody’s names and is witty without being laborious, is challenging without being mean. And Carl is fair. I sincerely believe there is no chicanery. The staff, beer and room are what one goes out for, the competitors are competitive. Split rounds and prizes are the way to go. I’m glad Carl doesn’t put the scores and scoring systems on your handsets, ‘cos if he did that would be the end of the road in my quest to find the perfect pub quiz (sic! :) ). You Got It, The...

I must say this is such an amazing venue! I love the atmosphere you get when you go around 4pm-5pm. Countless times I’ve been and it’s always amazing!

Yanno just like anyone can have a bad day, well I’ve had only one little disturbance but that was handled very nicely by the manager! It’s nowt to worry about. It’s not something that is gonna stop me going back! Love this place 🫶

I haven’t tried the food yet, but just absolutely amazing smells and sights seeing all that lovely fresh food getting brought to people was tempting me… I’m gonna cave in next time I go up 💓!

If you’re a nightlife girl like me and like a lil party, well after you’ve been here, I really suggest heading across the road 😉 (Only if your wanting a party)

But yeah most places people say “oh they have a bad rep”, well darling go experience it yourself first and don’t go up with friends that cause a scene 🥴! Cause it’s amazing when your on your own, and if your feeling in danger, they do handle it very well when you ask for help to the correct people like the manager or Door Bouncers.

The man running Karaoke on Thursdays is an ahole! After I noticed a person sung twice before me I asked when my song was up & he told me I could wait even longer. He acted as if I was Oliver Twist asking for a second bowl of porridge. I told him, you win. I'm going home. I didn't know it was your job to make me feel bad about spending money here. I mean seriously, being punitive for asking a question.

I was there for the previous 2 nights and the person running karaoke on Wednesdays was much much nicer & down to earth. The bar staff and doormen were all great but despite that the Thursday karaoke guy makes me give the place only 1 star. What a dic k 🍌🥒

Update: the next day management asked me to contact them. I did, they apologized on DJ's behalf & said they would talk the DJ about the Oliver Twist incident & offered compensation.

I believe Yates genuinely cares & wants to make it right. This is great! It's very easy to judge a place but when things are negative how do they handle it. They have stepped up so I am adding 2 more stars &...
