Wellholme Park • Brighouse — Attraction in Calderdale

Lovely park with play areas, running water, open space, a small skate park, a play road s that has been painted on the ground and a large wooded area to explore. There is a gorgeous coffee shop offering homemade cakes and an array of luxurious coffees. During the summer the coffee shop also sells ice cream and lollies and is very busy. The park itself is well maintained with swings and apparatus, a roundabout and a large rope climbing frame. The skate park usually had older children on but don't be disheartened the majority of the older children offer help and guidance to younger ones which is a joy to watch. There can be a bit of bad language but a gentle reminder usually calms them down. Wellholme is popular with dog walkers and because of the beck its ideal for our canine babies to cool off in. Great park space with a 1km flat walking or running path whatever your fancy. Even a fitness area at northern end to do some cardio or whatever Good relaxing space for kids .....lovely kiddies park area plus a square area with a well kept flower garden looked after by a member of Calderdale Council (wish I knew his name). Even little coffee shop of the same name in the park area where you can have a lovely latte or any drink of choice with a sandwich hot or cold....quite affordable. This park has just about every thing. Large open grassy area with a stream running through the middle or the park. A bridge provides access to both sides of the park. The far side has a very large grassy area which is over locked by a wood with foot paths leading up to the old railway line. Exelant for dog owners. There is also a BMX track at one end of this half. The other side of the park has a kids play area with lots of things to play on, and more than ampple seating. There is also a skateboard park adjacent to the kids play area. And a cafe that sells hot and cold refreshment ample parking on the road...
